What does switch do?

I am so confused on what to do when I call out switch or when a party member calls out switch

If you switch you and a party member switch rows, you to the back and your partner to the front (more or less). The only thing it really do is stunning the enemy so that he cant attack you for a short period of time. If the enemy recovers from the stun he is imun to stun for a few seconds ( i think 30 seconds or so).
After you switch you can continue your attack, you dont have to do anything special.

so... I call out switch and that's it? monster get's stunned? so when do I use it because everytime my party member says I'm busy

Yes thats it. Hmm when my partner say he's busy in most of the cases he cant reach the enemy or was using a skill. Try to switch with your attacker or tank not with your healer.
I use switch when i see the enemy cast a spell to interrupt him.
