Anime before game
Just wondering, if I did watch the anime before trying out this game, would watching the first 12 episodes give me a good introduction into the universe of the anime? Or should I watch the whole 25 episodes?

Does this game timeline continue after the last episode of the anime? or..?

It appears this game takes place after the Phantom bullet Arc and before or during Mother's Rosario arc

That is after episode 14 and before or during episode 18-24 of the 2nd season of the anime.

Your English is fine! I just finished downloading the 1st and 2nd season. I'll watch season 1 and see how it goes from there.

The games (Infinity Moment, Hollow Fragment, Lost Song, Hollow Realization...) take place in an alternate timeline that is split off from the Anime timeline during episode 14.

Because of events in the first game (Infinity Moment/Hollow Fragment), you can disregard everything from episode 14 onward Anime-wise. For example, the entirety of Fairy Dance arc never happened in the game-verse because Nobuyuki was arrested at the end of IM/HF.

it is actually before phantom bullet, because phantom bullet game adaption will be out somewhere around February, so it's definetly before.

Recommand: at least watch 1-14.
Most of the characters(exclude game characters) are in 1-14.
Leafa appear after 15. You know that she is Kirito's sister is enough.

The SAO games are set in an alternate timeline that happens after a part of episode 14 of the occurs. Characters that, in the anime, show up in later arcs, like Phantom Bullet, Fairy Dance, Mother's Rosario actually end up logging into SAO while the death game is going on, so they join the "party" during SAO rather than ALO or GGO (Leafa, Yuuki, etc). Some characters from an even later arc, the Alicization arc, show up as cameos sometimes.

So this game happens after SAO and while ALO was, until now, the only other VRMMO game in town. Fairy Dance never happened. The "Death Gun" bit will likely happen in some form during the Fatal Bullet game, I would guess, since Richter shows up during this game.

Also, Leafa is Kirito's cousin, though they consider themselves brother and sister because they were raised together by Leafa's parents.
