First visit to Ford Cruller's mind - boat ride text?

This is going to drive me nuts... the first time you enter Ford Cruller's mind, after lighting a few torches, you jump in a canoe and pilot it through some gates while Raz reads aloud a letter he found in it. Except, slight hitch, if you sail too fast, you'll hit the end of the course before he finishes reading it, which causes the narration to terminate prematurely. And there's no way to go back, do it over, or hear it again.

I haven't even been able to find any Let's Plays on YouTube where the same bloody thing doesn't happen - apparently, in order to hear the full text, you have to actually stop and wait for Raz to finish, which basically nobody ever does.

Can anyone at least tell me how the letter ends?

Yeah, this is a problem in a bunch of games so I've just conditioned myself to always stop and listen to dialog if there's a risk it might cut out.

Happened again a bit later, right near the end of the Psitorium... one errant button-press interrupted a very interesting-sounding explanation, and as always, there's no do-overs... it's clearly something you have to be *really* careful of in this game.

Just a heads u with as minimal spoilers as i can get away with: a bit later on, when you are falling in slow motion as if you are in low gravity, do not go for the emotional baggage tag. If you miss, you'll end up in the same boat.

Edit: this will be a few hours later in the game. You'll know you're there as soon as you experience the low gravity.

The warning is appreciated, though I calculate a 65% chance or higher that I'll forget all about it in the moment and just go for that tag out of ingrained habit. :P

Just got through this section the other day after reading this. Came back to say thanks for the warning. It's unfortunate that a great game like this loves trolling you, inadvertently or not, multiple times in this manner.

I don't remember the specific ending to the letter, but the entire thing is Otto introducing Ford to Lucrecia, stating that she has strong hydrokinesis and will be great at getting psitanium from underground using her water manipulation.
