The new designs aren't bad but they're so symmetrical with mostly normal proportions. I think only Cassie and Helmut are asymmetrical, and the latter has very little screentime
I suppose it is to reflect that these are more well adjusted characters instead of the looney bin that was Whispering Rock, but it's still a shame.
For people who love the hilarious insanity of the original Psychonauts, the sequel has less of it, but still a lot more compared to other games, and it improves on the first game in other significant ways.
Both games have the same character designer and the characters in this one are both more adjusted, older, and therefore less immature in the way they dress. I think it works well. There's definitely a whole lot less body horror and disfigurements in this game than the original though.
Same world, same interesting characters, same crazy visuals. So if you loved the story in the last one you'll likely enjoy this one.
