How important is Rhombus of Ruin?

I don't have enough money to buy into Virtual Reality. I want to know if I should watch a playthrough of it before this game comes out, or if I could skip it for now and play it my self when I hopefully have VR equipment in the future?

Devs say you won't need to have played Psychonauts 1 or PitRoR to follow Psychonauts 2. The best reason to play/watch PitRoR first is so that Psychonauts 2 won't spoil the twist at the end of it, but if you've already watched the trailers for Psychonauts 2 that point doesn't matter anymore.

If you decide to watch it I know a very good playthrough, the user tried to be thorough with all the jokes/easter eggs and tried to keep their head still so it isn't too dizzying:

Just in case anyone else is reading this or you haven't watched it yet....
If you saw all the cut scenes from part one, Rhombus literally begins straight after and continues the story. Where Rhombus ends is exactly where Psychonauts 2 will begin.
