Soundfont links and downloads
Anyone have good soundfont links?

I've found a few:

https://soundpacks.com/?s=soundfont
http://www.hammersound.net/ look in "soundfonts by thomas"
http://chusocol.sourceforge.net/

Edit: I'm not sure about the licenses of thes files. Check before using for commercial purpose.

Thanks for sharing these links!

Most of EXA's default Soundfonts were found at these sites:
It's worth looking at these sites for additional Soundfonts, as EXA could only include the ones that offered the most permissive licenses.

Some other archives I've found along the way:
Of course, please be sure to verify licenses for these files, especially if you plan to use them commercially (in recordings, performances, etc.).

This is my favorit Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra:

The MuseScore Orchestra SoundFont:

Squidfont Orchestral Soundfont:

Ultimate SoundFont Pack:

If I bought a whole set of soundfonts for otrher programs, do you think I can bring them here? I assume its easy to import.

EXA v1.3.2 will have support for using audio files (WAV and OGG formats) directly, in addition to the existing support for Soundfonts! This has been a much-requested feature, and I have to say, it does feel good to drop in random audio files and try them out in EXA -- rather than finding or building a custom Soundfont.

So, EXA is in need of a nice "default" collection of audio files! Does anyone have some links to good audio file collections? Important: just like the default Soundfonts, these audio files would need to be clearly licensed as "public domain" or "just provide attribution".

Ideally, I'm looking for collections with a wide variety of sounds, rather than many variations of the same kind of sound (like "200 snare hits"). A good folder organization would be useful, too. I might also record a handful of simple audio clips myself -- different wave shapes, sound effects, short vocal sounds, etc.

Note: EXA assumes that an audio file is tuned to middle C (MIDI key 60).
Sweet!
I use SampleSwap in the past, I know their aif but could convert them to WAV or OGG. would some of those kits work?

I will look around, I tend to buy all of my stuff.

SampleSwap looks great for the amount of content! Given their site's structure, it looks like it would be pretty time-consuming to curate a collection. But, should be good for searching for a specific type of sound.

The WAV/OGG restriction was just because that's what Unity does by default... I should be able to handle AIFF, too, with another code library (NAudio) that EXA already uses.
wow, that would be really awesome... ill see what i can find

I've found a lot of audio-sample links over the past few days. Some are public domain or CC0/CCBY licenced, others are free but non-commercial. I'll post the links soon. In any case, there are way too many to include with the EXA release, so now I'm trying to curate a "best of" collection.

Help me share this latest video, testing out some new samples to make a beat:

EXA v1.3.2 now supports audio samples (WAV, AIFF, OGG):

Here are some links for finding samples, either as individual files or packs/collections. Many of these sounds/packs are royalty-free, but please check for yourself to make sure:

EXA includes 1,000+ audio samples (ones that have permissive licenses, like CC0, for redistribution). To make the samples work well with EXA, I spent some time editing the audio -- normalizing, re-pitching to C, trimming out silence, etc. You may want to do the same when bringing in new samples.

This site - http://next.warbeats.com/ - has Soundfonts, Loops and Drumkits samples. Sidebar will take you to the correct area.
nice, thanks old man =)
https://www.reddit.com/r/Drumkits/ - got most of my kits here. Also has soundfonts
