[Bug] Nauts Quest: "The Enemy Within"
I'm going to... try and avoid spoilers in this, so I'll be vague.

Near the end of the quest, when the player is given the option to "Intervene right away" or "Wait to see what he puts in the box". If you choose to wait and see what's put in the box, a short time will pass, your target will vanish, and when attempting to interact with the dead drop, the main character simply says "Better not touch it. Nobody should know that we've discovered this box."

There is no way to advance the quest further, as the character refuses to check the boxes contents.

Reloading from the most recent auto-save (about 15-30 seconds prior) and choosing to intervene / arrest (...murder) seems to work fine, however.

Hello NoRudeLaw ! :)

Thank you for reporting this issue. We will investigate it on our side.

May I ask, what is the current quest objective you have after the character said "Better not touch it" ? Do you have a prompt on the dead box or not at all ?
Have you tried reloading a save in front of the box ?

Sorry for the inconvenience !

Best regards :)

I thankfully had been saving pretty much just before each quest objective for pretty much the entire game.

When going to the dead drop in the final Nauts quest, when choosing to see what he leaves in the box, all it says is "Examine" when trying to interact with the box/dead drop. Which, each time the box is interacted with, the only thing that happens is the "Better not touch it" comment listed above.

Again, thankfully the game's baked in auto-save feature kicked in just before the bridge (roughly 15 seconds earlier, or so), so it wasn't game breaking at all on my end.

As for saving/reloading, yes. I tried reloading multiple times. Including reloading from just before the "tailing" part of the quest, and/or exiting out to the main menu and loading from there. About the only thing I didn't do was fully exit the game and restart it.

On my end, all I needed to do was just choose to kill the guy instead of checking the dead drops contents. Going that route, the quest progressed normally. Which only resulted in a small dialog during quest completion stating that we were unable to identify the buyer.

Glad I was able to help.

This is some serious good habit ;) I do the same (thank you Skyrim)

Thank you for all the given informations, this will be very useful to us. We will continue the investigation on our side.

I'm glad you were able to finish the quest despite the issue. So sorry again for the inconvenience.

Best regards :)

I would also like to confirm that I have the identical issue. Also I would like to add that I had an issue earlier in the quest which may be linked to this issue. After tailing the first guy to the dead drop and getting the marker to return to the admiral, I also got the quest event to tail the same guy again(I tried doing that and the quest just seems to loop at that point) so I just went to the admiral. It may be that the dead drop still thinks we are in the first section of the quest.

And there is an invisible wall thanks to this bug on the pathway up leading to travel globe. And not being able to finish this you cant get the Nauts your allies towards the endgame... this is so infuriating... thought this bug was gonna dissapear after progressing in the game... But getting closer to the ending.... Still nothing... i really dont want to load a 10 hours back made hardsave.... cause other times those 3 autosaves have been a blessing...

Want to confirm I have the same problem. Alba is alive and when choosing to delay the arrest, I cannot interact with the "dead drop" box with the exact same message the the OP has.

I believe the next step of the quest is to go back and talk to the Admiral. Not sure if that step is bugged for you, or if you're just not being prompted. Worth a try if nothing else.

On PS4 have same bug, I selected wait to make the arrest and it just keeps the objective marker on the dead drop and then gives the prompt "Better not touch it. Nobody should know that we've discovered this box." And won't allow me to interact. Please get to patching cause I hate feeling like I missed an opportunity for more diplomatically useful information for now I'm on to other side quests while leaving this objective as "look inside the dead drop".

having the same issue, any chance it'll be patched soon? I don't want to 'arrest' him to fix it :(

Got the same defect. So far, I tried it in German, on what i usually play, English and French. Even Chinese. Changing languages did not work. Neither sneaking up to that deaddrop, nor running or sprinting changed the behaviour. Would you guys like to have a savegame so you could verify that one? Think we all would happy to help you.

I got the same bug in this spot. Alba is alive in my save as well.

I can confirm the above bugs still persist - the "don't touch the box" dialog and invisible wall nearby

To add to the current issue; I have completed the rest of the storyline but this Enemy Within quest is still active. Now I'm at "Breaking the Links" to find Constantin's hideout, but I cannot get to the hideout because there is some invisible wall between the wooden markers on the road after the box from the Enemy Within quest... Urgently needs an update because I cannot proceed any further right now.
Still cannot look inside the dead drop?
