its not perfect, but seriously, if these minor nuances bother you, I'd maybe hold-off on playing this game.
Tell that to every game then as that the norm (unfortunate at times) and omg gods help you for the years you will need to spend on it for countless jrpgs and not too mention older (including just style) games.
(not to mention as previous stated the countless broken games that not only are broken but do way worse faces that clearly scream out, My face is tired, and then go beyond that and make them T pose more often then not, fail to load textures that make them look like they from Nes, etc...).
Also yes all should play out how you want for sure you are deciding factor for sure :D
Also the other part not true you just have some hate boner for game and doesn't excuse all else I said of games from cyberpunked to not saints to just games of Old/cheaper style to jrpgs to sports to 1 massive 1 I forgot to mention - most multiplayer games especially mmos.
And of course I got the MEA (probably the best combat of the series, which since the devs were in charge of ME3 multiplayer makes sense, but the rest of the game was a massive trainwreck) reference, its uncanny valley NPCs were almost as bad as Greedfall's (post glitches that got -mostly- fixed) the only reason this game isn't as well known for monsters is because it's a niche game made by a niche company (although AA isn't -that niche- to ignore jank that would be expected from a indy garage studio) whose fans are cultish in thier devotions ... not as bad as Fromsoft's fans, but still unwilling to hold the devs to a fire and encourage them to improve. ... Pseudo-open world where you can go to an area the story isn't pointing you to but the NPCs have zero reactivity and assume you are there for the first time when the story wants you to visit? ... That's just Spiders being Spiders and is expected. // A main character who is told we have such a close relationship with her cousin but yet the game does nothing to foster that feeling? ... Spiders is "only" an AA Studio and can't be expected to flesh out those details. // Combat that is full of jank and a few OP skills and NPCs that might as well not be there? ... See the previous answers.
As for the rather disappointing tactic of wanting to discuss unamed games to allow you to freely shift goalposts or the laughable attempt to bring different genres into the mix such as MMOs; be better.
It takes an extensive amount of time, effort, and money to make good lip animation work. If it didn't ship with the original game, it's not just going to be magically patched in.
Lower budget RPGs have had bad lip work for decades because of this, but we're usually rewarded with a trade off of a long and well written interactive story with engaging combat and engaging narrative choices to sink our teeth into.
And that's a trade I'll happily take any day.

Bonus Tip:
If you ever find unpolished lip work to be too much: You can always focus on the subtitles, and treat the conversations more as audio books that you're listening to and reading along with, rather than movies.
