to buy or not to buy that is the real question
i see the game is on big sale and wanted to check it out thing is the online videos did not help me understand what kind of game is that.
is it like all the general big open world games? like: skyrim, mass effect, drogan age, even maybe assassin creed?
if so i think i will buy it
please and thank you

The World of Greedfall is big but it's not a typical open world game...there are areas (every area is separeted from the other)...i can tell you this: the bosses are really amazing. It's a really good balanced game in my opinion

It's a mediocre game with alot of wasted potential, but is probably worth buying on a really good sale.

But no, it's not "open world", and if you explore an area that the story doesn't send you there is zero interactively.

Ive played it for a good few hours now... It is good of what Ive experienced so far (2-4 hours in). The "open world" feels very 360/PS3 ish for me... Each city or part of the world has been divided into sections... Totally breaks the immersion but hey, thats just me. Story so far is good and its not shy on the companions they give you either...

Combat wise its very Souls-like for me... excluding the stamina bar.

I got it on sale and I have to say it is a diamond in the rough. I say get it if you want something Skyrim...ish mixed with some old school Bioware flare

This game has an actually good story, and a beautiful world. Worth every dime for me.

To be or not to be (a potential player) that is the question:steamhappy:

Like a lot of the other games made by these devs, the game is a diamond in the rough. Buy it. The game is open-world in the same sense that the first Dragon Age game is open-world; each section of the game has its own, closed-off map, but each map has spots where you can travel to other game locations, and you can freely explore within each map unless a quest prevents it. Your party members can also hold their own in combat, and depending upon party composition, you have multiple ways to resolve confrontational situations.

Funny you mention companions and combat, because I've found the game is MUCH easier simply pretending they don't exist and expecting battles are won or lose solely by me.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Cool story and mixes swashbuckling with guns.

I really enjoyed Greedfall and i got it for 8 €, thats a shame.. a shame for me..
its worth much much more.
Much better than I would have thought, much better than the reviews suggested.
What did I like so much:
The graphics, very nice scenery and the partially given paths why hardly visible (except on the map).
all conversations were well dubbed, may be standard, I still found very good
the story, the missions found you really good also the DLC "de vespe conspiracy"
I liked the characters, both the Companions and the other characters you met and talked to you.
The system with the camps and the carts, so at a certain point to have less legwork was a good idea
The possibility of either real-time or stop (space) battles is excellent. Not everyone is fast enough when playing in real time (I fought mostly in real time but sometimes with the space button). Had I used it more often the fights would have been easier, but on Easy they were just that mostly easy enough for a casual player.
I'm pretty sure I'll play through it at least a second time (then maybe my cousin won't at the end.....).

i like the game and, on principle, i buy as many RPGs as i can afford. though i dislike the "dark souls-esque" part of it (but i just lower the difficulty from Normal if it gets too challenging), but i mostly like the storytelling and the graphics. you feel like you're in a different "world"/time (if you have the graphics card to bear it).
