1. Open Greedfall and reset keybindings (idk if this step is required but its what i did) and then close it
2. Goto /{game file location}/Greedfall/packs
3. Open the "data.spk" file with 7zip (or similar)
4. Goto input folder in the data.spk file
5. Copy the "inputs_explore_fight.sli" to /{game file location}/Greedfall/datalocal
6. Open "inputs_explore_fight.sli" and edit required hotkeys with text editor
Also, when rebinding dodge from this file please remember to rebinding sprint as well or it won't have an effect.
Edit: i stupid
Edit 2: Formatting
(Also did you save the file after the changes?)
I'm a lefty and the mouse button bind was driving me nuts
Ah but Greedfall Hard-bound the RMB to "back" in the menus, as well as some other keys, that actually work in game and for the menus. If you hardcode your RMB to "F" then clicking it will not work in the menus as the RMB for "back". That's part of the issue.
The LMB for instance is "attack" but you can still click on things in the menus with LMB.... they are dual use. They just overlooked that trying to map RMB in the mapping interface (a menu) backs you up instead.
My man, you're the man
(or woman)
If you want to swap parrying and dodging the character strings you are looking for are SKILL_BLOCK SKILL_DODGE and SKILL_SPRINT for skills, and shift and mouse_right for the button channels. Also you have to reset the bindings to default in game for this file to be loaded (there must be some overwrite somewhere if you change).
Why is there this convention in most 3D games, even triple As, that the most timing-critical skill, dodging/dashing, is assigned to... the left pinkie. Who the heck has the coordination to dodge properly with the left pinkie, especially during 15-min boss fights ? Remapped dodging to right click and steamrolled through the Arena as soon as I landed in New Serene (got the magic shadow dodge in the middle, very fun... maybe not balanced for a right-click-assigned dodge).
