SLI library couldn't be loaded.

Since the most recent update (a 7.8mb file). The game can't be started anymore. Note: I'm not talking about loading a safe file. Simply starting the program no longer works. Everything was fine before.
A warning message is shown:

WARNING! At least one sli library couldn't be loaded. Correct any error in sli files (see log for details) and restart the editor.
OTHERWISE, THE EDITOR WILL PROBABLY CRASH SOON!

I already verified the files, checked the documents folder for log files (there weren't any), disabled overlay, turned antivirus off and googled the problem.
Any ideas?

do you have any mods? i had this issue with the map anywhere mod installed

it is thus far the only mod causing issues with the new update

None.

I'll try to do a clean install. Maybe that will help.

I'm having this issue as well. I have a few mods installed, but disabling them and doing all the op did ended in the same result: Nothing being fixed.

Same, still even now. Exact same as OP, it just says 'no' no matter what! Rolling back version, clean install(Including using third party cleaning apps to COMPLETELY remove EVERYTHING that had anything remotely to do with GreedFall), Mods all off, verify cache, Blood For The Blood God, nothing works.

RIGHT AS I POST THAT I FOUND THE FIX
1. Go to - Games / steamapps / common / Greedfall / datalocal -
2. Delete absolutely fookin E V E R Y T H I N G but the "globalsettings"
3. ??? (???; because I have no idea how '2' helps, but it does somehow)
4. The game now somehow stops having a seizure every time it loads up
5. Profit

For those that wish to continue using mods that are encountering this error, there is a beta branch labeled (previous) that reverts the game back a version and allows mods to run again.

Does this still count? I had a perfect running modded game, and suddenly started getting that error around a week ago, have not been able to fix it yet.

I know this is a really old post, but nobody responds on mine or on the one on Reddit and I just want to play this game again.

Hi there, I chose the Beta branch Previous but am still getting this error...any ideas? I'm using Resorep as well.

If you click in the steam settings for the game (usually the gear icon) then properties then beta, the previous is an option but I didn’t end up needing it. Resrorep is a third party texture loading app to input them in game. However I ended up fixing my problems by deleting some conflicting mods. I’ll share my mod list when I get a chance but I’m on Discord at SilvertongueRED as that’s easier than steam comments sometimes.

Ok, got ya! What can I say? I would absolutely stay AWAY from launching any old versions of Greedfall. The last update for this game, was in... mid 2021 if I'm not mistaken, and loading any mods older than that brings high risk of breaking your game. Using mods that predate De Vespe Conspiracy DLC pretty much guarantees to break your game. Mod conflicts tends to cause this bug aswell. So I'm glad everything worked fine for you.

As a modder I have to be super careful about what vanilla files I'm extracting and working with, since often there's like 3 versions present in data packs. (original, DLC version and often patched version on top of that). If I'll pick the wrong one, then... I can re-introduce some old, patched bugs into the game in the best case scenario. Or seriously mess something up in the worst of cases. :)
