I have found that the companions seem to develop their skills faster, as they focus on one or two stats, so you can try and see if any of the other magic users (there are 2 - Siora and Petrus) who might be able to use it early.
I have been building a"well rounded" character, so find my pc lags behind the companions in terms of what gear I can wear
I like that mechanic. It seems more realistic than always having things being spoon-fed to me. The player gets to choose between the short-term value in gold vs. the long-term payoff in utility.
Not sure what the point of complaining would be? How about not selling cool stuff to strangers for pocket change?
