Romance in the game
So it was implied in the trailers that there may be some chararacter development and relationships in the game. But so far i havent seem to have reached that point. I wonder though, im playing as a male character and i see flirt dialogue options when talking to the other male companions but not with the single female companion. Is this game trying to sell me on something? Haha

they will trigger eventually . Particular characters take a long time before they trigger. Also dependent on dialogue choices made in certain conversations. If you are trying to go native just be patient and continue through the main story. I thought I had botched it as well .

Aphra is easy to romance, just do her personal quests and hit on her in dialog.
Siora on the other hand is only romanceable very late in the main story and you have to
give her very specific answers during some quests to win her favor.
Its easy to lock yourself out of her romance completely.

The 1st person I spoke to was Kurt (as a male) and there was two dialog options, one to leave the conversation and one where I asked him if he ever felt lonely. Which he assumes is me making a pass at him, and clarified as much when I made clear I was not. As it would seem he only bats from one side of the box if you catch my drift.

Basically as the plot progresses talk to your followers and options will present themselves.

Yeah just be warned you have to do the dialogue in a certain way or else you can't get any romance it seems, I didn't realize you had to choose there dialogues 100% correctly to be able to romance them, guess i'll have to get the achieves on another playthrough later

Yet to see anyone I would try and romance anyhow. Is there any other female options than Siora?

I'm not so big into short hair or root fashions...

Aphra is the only other female romance options. But only for male main characters, Siora can be romanced by both genders.

Thats Aphra:

I've now read several times, that it takes one exact choice during each conversation to trigger the romances. Now, I am wondering, whether I locked myself out of Kurt's romance by picking the wrong dialoge option one time (I think it was the one during his second quest, I choose "you still surprises me" instead of "to get to know you better").

The strange/mean (if I indeed locked myself out) thing is though, I DID get the scene in which he asked me for a night alone with him away from the other companions and I did agree to it. It ended with the usual "Meet me in front of my room the next time we come here"; I did pick the "right" answer after his last quest, which - from the literary point solely - seemed to be the one that was more decisive than the first two)

Yet this rendez-vous never triggers.

I've almost finished the game, only the final quest remains. I've tried talking to Kurt at every single residence in all three cities, even out in the field just to be sure not to have missed it somehow.

So, either the game locks you out of the romance at a really annoying point, i. e. AFTER your romance option asks you for a date (wouldn't it make more sense for this scene not to trigger at all if you made "wrong" choices during the earlier conversations?) and leaves you waiting for a date to happen .... or the romances are indeed bugged with the actual romance-scene not correctly triggering. :/

I had the same thing with Vasco. He presented his poem, asked for some time alone and the cutscene never triggered. First I thougt I had to just proceed in the game to trigger it, but now (10 hours later) it still didn't show up. If this is a bug, it is a really odd one for a RPG.

Yeah, same. The rendezvous never happens for me either. I've tried fast travelling to a different town to go to one of my other residences, fast travelling to another part of the city and moving back to my house and then sleeping in the bed. Nothing seems to work.

I also tried these things. Finally, I finished the game and a romance never triggered and wasn't mentioned in the final comments. Seems like this is a bug.

I inadvertently said something to Kurt back in Serene, that he mistook for flirtation. Then out of the blue one day, he suggests we jump into bed together?

Aphra I hit on right away, then did her quests, and that never developed into anything.

Siora, only warmed up to me by the endgame, and quite honestly, that was entirely underwhelming. It went from cold indifference for the entire game to soulmates just before the final battle?

I shoulda just went for Kurt, I guess?

Female MC right? Because from what I know of it both of those two are straight so...

Nope and nope. Just a guy offering a friendly word to a buddy...then things got a little weird. I didn't mind, desire isn't scary.

It's possible I'm getting Vasco and Kurt mixed up, but I don't think so? It was definitely a dude who was forward with his interests long before any of the women warmed up to my character.
Watchman Sep 18, 2019 @ 3:14pm
Near as I understand only Vasco the Sailor (wiggling_eyebrows.gif) and Siora play both teams...
