FYI: Just quick heads up on Dodging and Parrying.
For anyone just starting to play now (like me) - fyi the action labels in the K&M control bindings are messed up. When it says "Dodge" in the keybinding menu, it actually means "Parry" (for both magic and weapons) - and when it ways "Sprint" it should say "Sprint / Dodge" because outside of combat, whatever is bound to "Sprint" will indeed cause you to run when held down. But in combat if you press it once, it will make you side step dodge in the direction you move with the movement keys.

So yeah if you are utterly confused what the hell is going on with the controls, it's just basically miss-labeling, probably just because of a translation error or something.

(PS - This applies to K&M, haven't tested controller yet)

Direction + Double tap Shift = Dodge

Okay, so how do you dodge? I always dodge by pressing A or D and shift. Is it wrong?

Nvm my previous comments, just pressing shift if he has weapons out makes him dodge to the back( he makes a small jump backwards), actually using the dodge key from the settings makes him parry like the right click one.
But he still doesn't dodge ( jump) to the sides even using shift he just runs.

From what I can see some actions seem contextual. So whatever key is bound to "Sprint" or "Dodge" in the controls menu, will do different things in different contexts.

For example whatever key you have bound to "Sprint" will do the following:

- In combat pressing it once will cause you to side step dodge backwards by default.
- In combat pressing it once (whilst using a directional key) will cause you to side step dodge in that direction.
- In combat holding the key (whilst using a directional key) will cause you to run in that direction.

- Outside of combat pressing it once does nothing.
- Outside of combat holding the key (whilst using a directional key) will cause you to run in that direction.

And as for what is labeled as "Dodge" in the controls menu, it will do the following:

- In combat pressing it once (whilst in magic fighting style) will cause a magic shield to block incoming attacks and also parry an attack if you get the timing just right.

- In combat pressing it once (whilst in melee fighting style) will cause you to block an incoming attack with the equipped weapon.

- In combat pressing it once (whilst in melee fighting style) and pressing the forward directional key at the same time, will cause you to parry an incoming attack, if the timing is correct.

Of course as I said this is on K&M and is especially evident if you have re-bound the mentioned key inputs. And also obviously the results of the key inputs mentioned above will be different if you have the dodge-roll skill unlocked.

In combat, holding sprint will first cause a sidestep and then start running. At this point I'm really quite sick of it.
