The Trial of the Waters Bugged?
Or incompetence on my side, you decide.

I'M supposed to meet with Glendan, however the guard of the council hut tells me I can't enter unless another member of the council vouches for me.
The quest now tells me I should wait a council member willing to help me.

I have already visited every village I helped, talk with the people there in the hopes that one of them would vouch for me, but no luck.

Does anyone know where I should go, or if the quest is bugged?

You did miss something, as we posted an update saying that a patch was comming fixing various blocked bugs in main quests.

Also, there is actually a beta version of the patch availliable to the players that should fix this issue, as well as others, you can find the informations on those posts :

If you could make a back up of your save files for safety, then try out the beta patch and tell us if it didn't unlock the situation for you, as it will help us greatly.

Hello Scourge ! :)

Do you have an other main quest active beside "The Trial of Waters" ?
In order to obtain the help of another member of the council you will have to progress through the main quest storyline a bit, you will meet someone willing to help soon :)

If you don't get The Princes Secret quest after exploring the ruins AND talking to the govnas you might be bugged. Currently theres no "fix" for this bug. just reload an old save or restart or wait for a fix. the bug is commonly got by "bulk" turning in quests to constantine.

Nope, no other quest at all. Just that single quest.

I'd rather not restart, I reached level 28, got some good gear, etc.

And there was no bulk turning in, I was just finishing the last quest where I had to visit the Inquisition and performed the ritual to call forth the female creature in the swamp.

Guess I will wait until its fixed via patch.

I have the same problem here it all revolves around the fact that the quest the suffering prince didn't start apperently

I don't know how much this will help, hope it'll help.

1. I have a same problem but in my cast the quest "Constantine's suffering" (can't remember the exact name) are stuck in "Destroy the nests" which apparently you have to destroy 3 nests.
2. Now in the same quest, you'll have to help villagers find their siblings in a cave which has a 4th nest and this will not count so in my case I have to go find the 3 nests that are on the surface.
3. After complete this quest I can manage to continue (because the native healer who you have to take to heal Constantine will give you a seal you want)

I also only have the "The Trial of Waters" mission. I tried to go back (losing 10 levels, secondary, etc.) But nothing is still not activated.
This is a serious bug related to the main plot, it does not allow to do anything. I await corrections as soon as possible

Thank you all for your reports. The issue with "The Prince's Secret" quest not triggering is now known on our side, and we are currently actively investigating this bug in order to fix it asap.

Indeed if this issue occurred on your game it won't allow you to meet the member of the council that will help you meet Glendan. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience. I'll let you guys know as soon as I can whenever we find a workaround or a fix the issue.

Do you think it could be fixed retrospectively or we would have to start new game? (Not there yet, so I´m just wondering)

not too keen on restarting myself either and will most likely just drop the game for now if it isn't a retrospective fix, as much as i'm enjoying it some ocntracts is all there's left to do now. good to see they're on it though.

is there really no option of a mod/bat file to just force the initial quest on you without seeing the first contact with the admiral so te speak and just force the trigger on you, even if a better way will be implemented later down the lines?

When reporting issues to the dev, we stress how important it is that the fix should work retroactively with saves affected by them.
As a few players have reported this problem, it is primordial that no one's progress is lost.

We cannot promise that it will 100% be the case, but we will be doing our best.

I hope so, for now I had to stop playing, I look forward to the corrective pach! How long will it take for the corrections?
