Sorry for the inconvenience! Does it happen all the time or seems to affect some areas? Are you able to launch the game or does it affect you from the start?
I've been able to fix the issue sort of by turning on vsync, but the cpu usage still spikes up to 80% sometimes but at least it's not peaking the CPU anymore or causing stutters. Hope this helps you til a patch rolls in.
For the devs, my system specs are
R5 2600 @ stock clocks
16GB RAM
GTX 1080 8GB @ stock clocks
Res played at is 1440p, settings are ultra.
AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor
8GB RAM
GTX 1060 6gb( Factory Overclocked)
Settings High-Ultra
Resolution is 1080p
intel i7 4790k (stock)
16 RAM
nvidia gtgabyte 2070super (factory oc)
1440p, all max settings
MINIMUM:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 7/8/10 (64 bits)
Processor: Intel Core i5-3450 (3.1 GHz) / AMD FX-6300 X6 (3.5 GHz)
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: 2 GB, GeForce GTX 660/Radeon HD 7870
Storage: 25 GB available space
Additional Notes: INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED FOR GAME ACTIVATION
Any chance the game is defaulting to an integrated GPU? Your specs should be good to go as far as running this game....
Tried a few things, settings turned down low, turning off steam overlay etc same CTD happens after around 5 minutes.
Not happy days at all.
Have you tried turning on vsync? It somewhat fixed the issue for me with my 2600, still high usage spikes, but no crashes since, not fun to be locked at 62fps, but at least it's playable.
Sorry for these issues.
Could you extract any logs and crash dumps related to the issues you are encoutering? they would help us greatly in identifying the source of the problem.
1. Open Windows Explorer or File Explorer from the taskbar.
2. Navigate to Documents > GreedFall.
- The two game logs (engine and game) and the crash dumps are located in the silk_logs folder.
NOTE: If a crash dump has not been generated after a game crash:
1. Navigate to Steam > steamapps > common > GreedFall > boot.
2. Check the presence of the appconfig.txt file or create it (as a Text Document).
3. Edit the appconfig.txt and add the line: steamdumps=0
steamdumps=0 > a crash dump is generated.
steamdumps=1 > no crash dump generated.
You can send then to support@focus-home.com by mentionning this thread or use a file transfer site like wetransfer and post the link in here.
Thanks!
Additionally: While typing this out I got a response that my mail has failed, seems you have a limit to file sizes. I will try again.
