To anyone who bought this, do you consider it a SJW game?

Games I consider SJW (so refuse to buy) are things like battletech, Gears 5, mortal kombat 11, prey etc Games i don't consider sjw and are just pure escapism fun are witcher 3, forest, conan exiles, monster hunter, resident evil 2, dark souls series etc

Does this game steer clear of marxist propoganda, is it just a game to enjoy and have some escapism in? I get so mad when I see propoganda in games these days that it totally sours the experience for me.

There is lots of politics that revolves around "white colonism" vs "natives" and does the goal justifies the means? If those two things are ok to you, this game is safe to be played regard your demands and standards.

In today's age, I'm not surprised to have answer to such post because... You are kind of right, today's games do pander too much.

To answer your question, Greedfall steer free of trying to pander (Kotaku even REEEEE-ed at the game). Hell, the same sex romances are not even forced upon you, as it is a choice (and equal oppotunities, 2 male romance and 2 female total after all). So you are free to do as you wish, but it is not thrown "in your face" as to say.

Very pleasing to see an RPG focused on the story it has to tell rather than real world politics made into politic in the game world. If you want a game that does not pander or force SJW politics down your throat, you'll enjoy Greedfall, please support the game to show devs that people that buy their games don't want stupid irl politics in the games (Looking at you, BFV british girl amputee fighting like a badass on the front, what even are you doing here)

That Kotaku "review" was a said hit piece from a triggered person that struggles to pick their gender IRL let alone in a game. If Kotaku want's to be legitimate about gaming journalism. They would fire that author post haste....

I definitely wouldn't call it an SJW game. You seem to have a pretty good choice of how you wish to go about things. Though there are some characters that are pretty elaborate charicatures of "people like this are pieces of ♥♥♥♥" and the natives are a little bit too innocent and naive (as far as where I am at least). But no more than any other game out there really.

I have no idea what you would consider "SJW" (I haven't played the other examples but Prey had like no politics) so it's hard to tell. There was a quest about capturing some heretics or letting them go so that could be political. Oh and a friendly guy who looked middle eastern who gave you a quest as well. Also by the looks of it it's gonna deal with a lot of colonialism issues so that may be triggering to you as well but I'm not that far into the game yet (Work/sleep requirements are annoying).

Battletech has a single, optional pronoun selection at character creation and that´s it, Gears 5 has a few optional LBGT flags in multiplayer that you need to BUY and i have no clue at all whats SJW about Mortal Kombat 11 or PREY.
To be honest this just makes you look like a triggered snowflake who is searching for stuff to be "offended" by. Something the "SJW" are usual the masters of.

So be careful to not become what you despise.

Haha, indeed this game seems to lean on the good old "innocent and pure native" stereotype that was popular in the 1960s onwards in westerns and age of discovery movies.

The whole self censorship of female characters while male are still so naked is what mostly is SJW in Mortal Kombat 11, can't tell why Prey though... As for Gears 5, I suppose it was the whole "We finally have our game with a strong independant female protag who need no man" kind of trailer deals, while I hear from reviews and most recent gameplay footage it is different, that was how they had portrayed Gears 5 at the start of their ad campaign. Can't tell for battletech, never heard much about it, but if you have character creation, selecting a pronoun is... silly at best, but if it is just pronoun and never see your character, then I don't see the issue.

Gears is a cheesy series. It began with a literal chunkhead screaming about GIANT WORMS as the protagonist. It's about one step up from Duke Nukem.
Why wouldn't it have an equally cheesy trailer for a female protagonist?

It's not SJW game from what I've seen so far. They tried to pander for better reviews with the romance options and of course failed miserably as every pandering attempt does.

Overall it's a good game. A bit more dramatic dialogues compared to Piranha Bytes's tough guy series. The melee combat is good.

Prey is a very good game. You are missing a lot. I don't recall any propaganda in there except the whole bunch of ugly people.
