See the *thinks* and *ifs* because...The game's not out yet so I'm unable to confirm.
Bound by Flame
The Technomancer
It is same game. So no open world. Some locations. Probably 3 chapters, 10-12 locations per chapters. Few are open from beginning, most open gradually as story progresses. You will have 2 companions, 1 join soon, 2nd join a bit later.
I didnt read or watch any info about this game, but since its re-skin i know 100% what will be in this game.
Also there will be no jumping. Other games didnt had it, why would this one?
Will be 2 attacks, 1 fast and 1 slow. Also around 3-4 weapon styles. Some consumables to shoot (but shooting is limited so you cant play 100% ranged).
Companions will do like 10% of total damage in combat, 90% is up to you. You can revive companions after battle.
Gameplay video deconfirms a lot of what you said.
There are 5 companions. 3 join at the first 2 chapters (your bodyguard, your captain, the tribal girl)
Game is about 30-40 hours. +10 if side quests. Dont know about completionist cuz there are 4 endings and many variation thereof, dont know if they give them all achievements though.
There are more than 4 weapon class: rapier, mace, axe, big sword, big hammer, big axe, two guns type, two magical ring types
There are more than 2 attacks: light, heavy, fury attack as well as different active abilities on the skill trees for different weapon types. (they are divided into abilities for heavy and light weapons. but weapon types themselves differ in timing, damage, animation, stun/knock down potential as well as elemental damage etc)
Dont know how much you can spam guns but you can play 100% range thanks to mana regen. Which is as fast as skyrim. There are also traps, grenades, guns to use in between mana regen. Dont know whether there are gears to fill mana faster or mana potions tho.
You solve a puzzle to unlock the next area like the rest of their games.
Typically running back and forth fetching something / talking to npc to get key to unlock next area.
But in the open world genre, this problem is more severe because you cant reasonable fill them with "reasonable" contents, a lot of it would be low effort or randomly generate and the algorithm can be faulty, just so there is SOMETHING for the player to do. The game stalker for example, try to amend that problem by not only spawning the encounter but also try to telegraph it with radio chatter, sounds, some visual cue that spawn with the encounter etc...
