Not Open World...wtf.
Had been kind of looking forward to this, and now I learn it isn't open world. YET ALL OF THE PRESS MATERIAL stresses exploration and gives these big landscape shots that very clearly are meant to convey some sort of exploration or 'openness.'

Seriously very let down.

Open world usually means worse.

As soon as big games go open world they add ALOT of filler content like samey quests with no dialogue, exploration points, bandit camps (or whatever style), etc.

Look back at how amazing old bioware games were, none of them open world.

Semi open world. Like The Witcher.

This.
Its not like DragonAgeInq as people keep going around saying.

Its like Witcher, or speaking from experience, Witcher 2.
Large zones, sometimes locked to story relevance.
Actually, DragonAge2 might not be a bad comparison.

Dragon Age 2 is closer to their previous games lol: "open area" full of corridors, backtracking, respawn mobs everywhere to lengthen your playtime, story tries to be super edgy but also suck ur d*ck at the same time.

The Witcher 2 did not have a full open world. Nevertheless, the game was great. I hope GreedFall will be the same.

Oooh, good thing i was stepping into the forums because i was actually gaining some interest in this game.
I liked witcher 2, but since we have 2019 i really expect games getting bigger and less linear. The problem with games like that, they are very limited.
Op stop asking for open world, gems like morrowind oblivion skyrim witcher 3 happen once in a bluemoon. Mostly open world has meaningless filler in it. DAI is semi open but look bioware ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up with useless filler fetch quests. Greedfall is Semi Open, but does that mean there is less content?

1. Compared to some open world games sure yes there is less content.

2. Less is not always bad, we have been told there are no filler or grind quests. Well structured quests with meaningful dialogue is implemented in the game.

3. Quality over Quantity for replayablity! Besides Greedfall is said to over 30 hours so it is not something to sneeze at.

4. You may just be a troll but i still wanted to say these points instead there are some people who are seriously concerned about it not being fully open world.

And why wouldn't it be like Inquisition?
It had large areas to explore, and it wasn't open world either.

I'd say there is a place for both. But I disagree with the notion that games in general should get bigger and less linear. I wouldn't want that. Imagine every game being open world. No thanks. Open world has its appeal, no doubt. But I really can't play more than one or two of those per year. And they also have a lot of problems. They are often filled with generic and boring quests. Half of the play time is just running from one place to the next. The story-telling is not nearly as dense and intense as in linear games. And they usually are way too long (that is a pro for many other people, but a con for me). I don't want every game to be that way. Just because open world is so popular right now, that doesn't mean other types of game design are suddenly not good anymore.

Ah, Inquisition.. awakening in me sweet memories of great spaces full of flowers to gather for fetch quest n°35 and respawning critters in the soft sun of the morning..

The Witcher series got bigger and more exploration based with each iteration, culminating in the Witcher 3, which in turn is giving us the even larger Cyberpunk.

You're leaving out the Fallout series, and Divinity, and the upcoming Cyberpunk..
