Charisma and cloaks question

Is there any point in maxing Charisma? So far every cloak I've seen gives +1 Charisma so is it better to just leave it at 2 points?

To clarify, would having 3 points and then +1 make it 4 points and even higher success rate or would it still count as 3?

Tbh I think even 1 point is enough and use the other 2nd point into something else

Since Charisma speech checks are a % chance you really dont need higher levels.
Just save before the talk and reload till you pass the check.
Did that a few times already because even at level 3 Charisma your chance in talks is most of the time 50%-75% to convince someone.

3 points give you 100% success rate and that is with 2 points + cloak so I see no reason why you would need more than 2 points as you still get 100% success rate with 3 points + cloak.

Are you sure 3 points gives 100% success rate on every conversation? I think I've had some that were 75%

Same had some higher ones at 75% even with max charisma

I'm pretty sure you suffer negatives to success in some of the conversations, in which case the bonus can pull you back up to 100%. Honestly, though, I'd probably stop at 2+Cloak, as I don't mind failing the occasional conversation - it adds to the story when you have to come up with alternative solutions.
