Siora question

So i love Siora as a companion so far. interesting quests etc etc. There are two things that bother me however:

1: For some reason she's the only companion that i've found so far without a helmet slot. Now i might be missing something here, but i don't understand why that is, and it kinda sucks because the native helmets look awesome.
2: I got this item in my chest (prolly from a faction reward or something) called the "healer's chain" i believe. Amazing stats for Siora. She can't wear it. Not because of lacking willpower, but tit simply doesn't show up in her necklace slot in the inventory. Is this related to a faction?

Ive noticed that any necklaces from green and up cant be used by companions. Not sure if this is a bug.

Im level 12 and i still cant find a decent hat with good stats.

Really? I had several from combat in the starter city before you set sail. Still decided on the DLC hat for the proc though thus far.

My issue was that I thought having her in your party would allow you to understand the natives, but I just eavesdropped on a conversation and though she was standing right behind me, I was given no insight into what the people were saying. I have run into a few similar cases of completely untranslated lines from natives and wonder why her benefit is so situational.
