"A better world" = Duncan as high king, all the factions at "friendly status" at the end of the game. Natives and settlers live together in peace and the malichor is slowly being reversed.
"A big step towards peace" = Duncan as high king, not all factions at "friendly" status.
General peace between the factions but with tensions. The malichor stagnates.
"Island for Sale" = Ullan as high king, the island gets exploited by the new settlers, the native culture is slowly destroyed. The malichor spreads on the island.
"Back to the Roots" = Dedre as high queen. The natives forcefully throw the new settlers of the island who return in defeat to the old world. The malichor rages on and the old world descends into chaos, poverty and war.
"The new gods" = You accept Constantins offer and rule the island with him as gods.
After a short period of rebellion the natives accept you as their new masters.
The settlers are send back to the old world. While the island turns into a paradise of nature the old world factions accuse each other of being responsible for the disaster and war breaks out between them. The old world collapses in sickness, chaos and war. The malichor rages on.
wow... thats how you get them. That is incredibly lame. I figured it was more tied into reps and the way you did certain quests. Not just 1 quest being done a certain way.
Dont forget, this is a game made by barely over 20 people with a TINY
5 million dollar budget.
For that its pretty astounding what they managed. Yes the endings are a bit "meh" and could be more fleshed out. But i hope if they make another game they will get a higher budget from their publisher after the success that Greedfall was.
Its a great game to me, Dont think many games besides DnD style ones have elaborate endings to get. Well Kotor 2 did to get the netural ending but that is dnd style. But yeah, hoping 2nd one has some really neat quest, ending tie ins.
yeah that would be great. Hell id love if we could get hostile with some and kill the govs
Does not matter you just need to elect Ullan as high king.
Edit: Hmm, another guide i read said you should not have any alliances between the factions. So maybe try to keep everyone at "nice" instead of "friendly" just to be sure?
Edit 2: another guide says you can have 1-2 alliances and even select Duncan as high king.
Honestly, just make a few saves before the high king election and experiment, there seems to be no clear answer how to get that ending yet.
And it mostly comes down to 2 decisions. 1 being in the final 2 minutes of the game. None of which effects the world or gameplay or other story Acts while you are actually playing the game.
Is the end story scroll that important to people?
the story may be the same but it does play out differently depending on how you approach a situation as in talking your way out or fighting. also, the different classes play differently so that makes gameplay different. so what you are saying is actually the story is the same Not the gameplay. gameplay depends on your class or how you choose to do a mission ie. stealth, talking, or fighting. I am on my second game now and i have done missions differently this time and my gameplay is different even though the story is the same.
