UI elements being somehow consumed by Designers?
So I started the game for the second time (because 1st one was a trainwreck from the beginnig) and I figured I'm gonna stock up on UI elements and later when I hire a Lead Developer I will have some for him to play with.
However whenever I checked inventory to see how many I already have there was only 1 and consumption said -2 (or exactly the amount produced by Designers). What is more when sorted by "Designers" in inventory it said that they were the ones using (consuming) them.
Is it a bug or something I didn't read somewhere?
(It all happened before hiring a Lead Developer.)

If you hover over each item in the production queue it will show you the components required to produce each. There are tiers of components. Higher tiers combine from lower tiers to make items.

I understand how that part of the game works.
To produce "UI Element" you need (Designer needs):
1 Blueprint Component
1 Graphic Component
The Designers make both Blueprint Component and Graphic Component so I have many of those.
The problem is what happens to the "UI Element" that was made without the presence of Lead Developer (the only person who might be using them), because it doesn't seem to stack in my inventory.

Are you also creating any of the following:
UI Set
Responsive UI
Design Guidelines

All of these are made by designers and all of these require UI Elements to make.

It's basically 1st week of game.
I had couple of people, couple of desks, almost no research, and UI Elements kept disapearing.
I'm 100% sure I wasn't using them.
Was just wondering if that happened to anyone else.

I've had similar problems but with my Lead Developer. Various components I *watched* them complete disappeared after completion and they'd try to start again until they were missing components. At first I thought I was mismanaging something but after keeping an eye on it I'm 100% sure it's some kind of bug. Restarted to make sure and had the same problem within the first couple weeks of gameplay.

I've noticed the same thing after starting a new game. Now there are fewer staff, it's easier to find that components are missing right after being made. Have noticed this with lead developers and designers.

Might actually be the case I noticed that I never needed many developers but my need for designers was a bit higher and lead developers I basically had a whole floor of them. So a bug with items disappearing would not be surprising. Then again lead developers have a ton more different units to produce and I use production plans with 3 tiers for each division Beginner, intermediate, and expert to keep production high across all components. Managers are great for automation but a bit wonky in how they decide to produce unless you create divisions devoted to producing certain items to keep more in demand items heavily produced to be fed up the chain or invested in the features your working on.

I've got the same problem, is there any solution?

Same problem here. Do devs monitors this forum?

I don't know how this isn't fixed yet. I've since stopped playing because of this.

Official reporting channel is email, but usually I do monitor everything. I had unsubscribed from this thread as I was convinced Bill was about to figure it out. Wickin left a negative review which let me to this thread.

I tried reproducing the bug, but with no luck. Here's what I did:
1. Started new savegame (Career Mode).
2. Hired 1x Developer and 1x Designer.
3. Configured my Designer's queue to: Blueprint, Graphics, Blueprint, Graphics, UI Element (to allow upgrading Landing Page).
4. Allowed game to run for 10 days and kept upgrading Landing Page.

The result is 3 UI elements in stock: https://i.imgur.com/5P88JzA.jpg

I noticed themck mentioning a -2 consumption of UI Elements. I wonder what the UI Set stock is? UI Sets require exactly 2 UI Elements and can be produced without a Lead Developer.

If anyone can provide instructions on how to reproduce, or a savegame containing the problem, that would be greatly appreciated. My email is jonas@hovgaard.com.

Best,
Jonas

necro post (sorry) but I can definitely relate to this. I had video modules disappear twice in a row. I queued a video playback module to create just after video module but they disappeared and I had to delete the playback module.
