Ceo?
How far you come to addressing abilities of the CEO? Personally starting out a company I think CEO should be able to do everything. Where employees come in they should be able take workload off the CEO so he can focus on other things.

I think the only issues I seen that the CEO has is not being clear that he can't modify employees schedule without managers. This has been in forum a lot. Has this been addressed?

And the other issue I seen with CEO is when he is done training and headhunting hes basically doing nothing all day. I just wondered if anything been implemented for CEO to be more active when he's not doing these two things.

A suggestion would be to implement a perk a CEO can be constantly working on boost the employees such as speed or money made from websites rather than just sitting idle.

I heard people saying somewhere the CEO could work on employee's morale too.

Hi there,

Well, the CEO is definitely something I want to look into. I prioritize what I work on based on the feedback I get from our ideas site ( https://ideas.startupcompanygame.com ). You're right that the CEO is causing a lot of questions and requests for more functionality.

However, right now, the big one is late game content. I get a ton of feedback (and negative reviews too) that players run out of stuff to do late game. I have to focus on that for the next 2-3 months.

Hopefully I can focus on the CEO later this year.

Hope it makes sense :-)

Best,
Jonas

Keep up the good work. I guess this is really just a minor quirk. I look forward to seeing how this game evolves :)

It's often the minor quirks that ends up being the most annoying to the player :-) Thank you very much, will do!

Sorry If I came on too strong. In reality this is more my dream job to create a website like ones presented in game. Steam games seem to be leaning a lot more into games similar to this being web developers, game designers, and you tubers. Its a kind of life a lot of gamers wanted. Like me a lot of gamers probably just didn't have the time, money, and resources to pull off this kind of thing. Being able to do it in a game is almost like doing it for real. But we have a different set of challenges. I personally love to see games related to this. But not all games can be made just like the real thing. In a way this game kind of teaches me what it takes to do something like this. My favorite games are Simulation and Strategy games. This game is both. Your game might be able to be used in teaching. It's got some fun about it and learning about it.

No worries at all :-) Thanks for all the kind words!

Actually the game has already been used in a few schools around the world. It's great to see that happening :-)

Steam is blocking the link to the ideas portion of your website. I use Norton and it doesn't seem to have an issue with your website for this game. Please get with Steam so you can have their block removed. Have a great day!

Fixed, thanks for letting me know. Steam just didn't like the parentheses to be surrounding the link :D

Lord Strong, with the upcoming release of Beta 27, there are going to be some cool new features, one of which is superstar employees who have insanely high production levels. I've been testing it and it's great!
What I've done is set my CEO (and my recruiters who need work) to recruit Expert level employees to catch those superstars. It works very well.

Hope you guys did well at Christmas sales. I haven't had much time to look at new content. but I look at progress this game has made. I will jump on board sometime soon. Just got a lot other stuff to do lately. I haven't forgot about startup company I just been busy. Glad you guys are still 'working' on this game. I hope to be playing it again when there isn't so much other stuff going on. Appreciate your dedication for such a good game.

I feel like I have to bump this thread as a new player. It really feels like the supposedly most important person in the company is also the most useless early game. I'm not going to be hiring too many people at that point, since it's too expensive. I won't be hiring managers since I didn't research them yet and it's too expensive still.

As such, the boss is just siting in their chair doing nothing or "headhunting" for people I won't be hiring for a quite a while. Might as well not be there at all and I wouldn't really notice the difference. Have them be able to do anything before Managers become a thing - even if they "suck" at it because it's not their primary function, at least it would be something.

I think the best way I can reply to your post is by posting a screenshot of what I'm currently working on for Beta 29 :schappy:

I feel like the the CEO should be used to passively generate things, whether it be revenue (cash, contracts, investment), resources (perhaps what your image is suggesting?) or users (by being some kind of media genius). In addition to his current recruiting role. That would help the early game, maybe for end game use/value, he can be upgraded throughout the game to increase different things (new passive % etc.) and randomly generate events based on what his 'specialisation' is. Also giving another level of progress through the game.

Essentially i feel that he starts the company and has the vision of what he wants and i feel that would be used externally of the company somehow whilst the employees run the company/do the day to day stuff.

Anyway, it's just an idea, it's your game and i thoroughly enjoy it :)

Cheers

It's a good suggestion :-) I recommend submitting all ideas at https://ideas.startupcompanygame.com. I base almost every update on the thousands of suggestions I have received there.

I'm glad you enjoy it! :-)
