outsourcing how would this work?
ok I had an idea for a custom game. but could i research outsourcing executives and run my business by just trading modules and components? I just need all the designers developers and lead developers to fullfill the outsourcing contracts. will game work this way or will i will be too limited? should i try building my base website a certain size first or can I achieve something by just only out sourcing?

How early at the earliest would i start this. and could i do this til i retire. I thought maybe do 10% of employees working on main site. and 90% working on outsourcing. not sure the idea of this scenario would work well as I haven't done outsourcing like this since early development when this part was being tested.

I don't sell components much, but I often rely on purchasing components over producing them much of the time. If you're strategic about what you sell it could be profitable. In my case, I'm looking to not have to worry about manufacturing so I just buy everything and end up with no devs or designers on staff at all. It is 100% a strategy that can work. The big warning I'd share is just to be careful about having enough cash on hand to take delivery. It's easy to go bankrupt if you start buying too much too soon.

i might experiment with it. just seems a concept i had for running my site. it almost seems the game is pretty strict with growing your main website and future websites. I like your idea of just buying components but does that pan out well with scope of building a major website? eventually I could fire all staff sept for sales executive and maybe a few others.

if i tried this idea. think it could work at around 1m users? as far as selling components to make money.

i experimented with trying to outsource without building up the website. seems that you need to make the website your main income then go for outsourcing. outsourcing tasks are usually to risky to attempt without a good base to build from. doing outsourcing tasks may be a more mid to late game tactic to build from. then can go for larger tasks. for my next experiment I'm going try build up my site to around 1million users then find some profitable ads. I'm guessing i will try get up to 20 or so employees and see how it goes. 10 employees dont give a lot of room to build with. im thinking somewhere around 3 to 5 developers, designers, and lead developers. at least 1 or 2 sysadmins and marketers. 1 sales executive. most everything needed to get 1mil users then go for an outsource executive. research all the components and mudules.

Basically for outsourcing the website is your base income and outsourcing is like a supplement to your income.

So far outsourcing appears a bit to random to do with limited employees.

Yes, almost certainly a mid to late game tactic because you need to have plenty of revenue coming in to pay out your contracts. But once you have a site built out this way it's easy enough to add more. I've easily gotten World Domination relying primarily on this strategy.

so far i seen outsourcing tasks requesting specific modules or component. only filter i found was allowing only modules and components researched but not filter in components and modules i actually already made. so to become dominate on the outsourcing tasks I need several modules already researched if not all and plenty built up in order to fill tasks readily.

am I looking at outsourcing tasks all wrong and should be producing only whats needed or is pre-making modules and components going to be a better approach?

could i focus outsourcing more on developers and designers or do I need get marketeers and sysadmins and lead developers too?

as for now outsourcing tasks appear a bit too random and doesn't seem to work in startup company as a primary focus. is that right?

I know it's been a while. Sorry if this is no longer relevant.

I'm not sure if you're talking about buying or selling components in your latest message. It sounds like you want to sell components that you've already manufactured. If that's the case, I don't have much experience to share.

If you're talking about buying, yes you can only buy components you've already researched. I would only buy finished modules. Not components I would have to have my own devs turn into modules.
