Developers get depressed early on
I bought them new desks, partitions, plants, sad faces then boom quit. Tried vacation. Nope. Maybe if there was a fridge or the water cooler unlocked earlier.

I dunno.

Great fun little game. Thanks

Do you send them on holidays?
When you hire an employee it tells you their desired WER (Work Environment Rating), If you don't meet that they get upset quickly. You can see your current WER by going to your 'Company Profile' tab. Vacations will reset their happiness back to full.

Yes but the balancing act of inventory vs days off is a little skewed. I wound up hiring a low quality employee to fill in while key people were on vacation.

Thanks for responding

Thanks I got it. Early on, but I wish the vending machine and water cooler unlocked eariler.

Thanks for your response
honestly, the best bet is once you get a hr manager and all that going, just send everyone on vacation at once, get them on the same schedule, then just every few days when they go frowny face, extended weekends for everyone!

The key word is inventory. Gots to haz inventories first.

Thanks it's a good idea

Thanks for helping out each other!

What do you think, should we slow down how fast employees get depressed, or is it okay?

Best,
Jonas

Currently playing the game now and I don't think the employees get depressed too fast... It starts to slow down as you progress further into the game...

One thing that did bug me was the rate of growth on your projects. I'm getting around 5k average user growth per day on my app thats always around 90-100 hype. Is there a mechanic I'm missing here? Hype is maxed and the growth seems linear and not progressive... Thanks for this sick game btw...

I vote for slowing that down. My WER is like 30% right now and I am still having to send my employees on vacation every 12 days roughly it seems like. Then again, there aren't really "weekends" built in to the mechanic like the real world so maybe this is OK?

Is there any other way to increase mood? It seems like soda machine/furniture/etc. only contribute to WER? I've even cut my employees hours to 7 hours a day and mood still decreases as mentioned above. I'm around day 65 I think.

UPDATE: I'm now further along (Tier 9, Day 90+) and it is much better. Employees moods stay up longer. Can go much much longer without vacation. The first 60 days was a challenge balancing inventory and moods. Had 2 employees quit and others may have gotten close! But now, mood and productivity stays much better for longer.

This is what I'm doing. After a few contracts or a huge product upgrade (usually several features) I send everyone on vacation. Works like a charm. I'm rolling in cash, everyone is nice and efficient and we're slowly but surely building up out platform.

I am sitting just above 30% WER and I have to send them out every 9 days. I am only on Tier 7 goods. I am not sure I like the way the mechanic works in general. The decay rate should be based on something a little more accurate to the situation. Before I moved building I had my WER at nearly 50% and was still sending them on vacation every 12 to 13 days. It just feels like another micromanagement thing that shouldnt have to be manually done.
