No idea what the requirements for this greeting are. There are also other villages in the event editor that I haven't seen in-game yet which is why I'm guessing the befriend option hasn't been implemented (I could be wrong though). Don't want to spoil anything but have a look in there if you're interested.
seems so. was able to trade with them after defeating them using spirit and having a ice demon from the dwarf main story quest (abandoning it).
When you are "on the path of dealing with the earth shakes" (to avoid spoilers) and talk to the dwarves, they will send you to Dzied Moroz - leader of the Ice Demons.
While trying to figure out a way to be friendly with Ice Demons I roamed their continent looking for anything and I've triggered an event - Dried Moroz came to meet me. You have a conversation with him. He explains the hard choice he has to make and, if you "Think the path is too cruel", he is touched. He sends one of his granddaughters Snezhinka to travel with you and says that "You will be a friend forever", giving you 60 points of faction reputation.
So my best advice is not to go to Ice Demons until you are sent there.
Hope this helps folks.
