[FIX] Game crashing/freezing on multiplayer
Hey for anyone who is having the problem where the game crashes or freezes when you try to go to multiplayer, make sure to verify your game cache. You can do that by right clicking on the game in your library, going to properties, hen clicking on the local file tab, and finally clicking verify game integrity. This worked for me and other people that i have seen. ALSO if anyone else found other ways to fix this issue make sure to post them

What about the game freezing and going into a "Not Responding" state when you click on the Multiplayer tab in the menu?

Going to bottom right of desktop/right clicking the audio icon/recording devices, turn on or enable Stereo Mix, this allowed me to get passed the freezing problem while joining and actually get into a game and play(Server ping was horrible though) but i did actually get in to play. Dunno if this will work for you but this was information i gathered from a different thread, if none of this works you guys could also try Gameranger that program is great for old games you'd like to play with friends or people still out there playing the oldies games. Hope this helps.

If you have mods, you better uninstall them or reinstall the game completely.

"Hey guys,

We are investigating the issue, it is most likely related to the matchmaking servers being hit with much bigger traffic than anticipated. We will try to resolve this as soon as possible."- Someone from GOG in the forums
