Obligatory EUIV comparison
So does this have anything over EUIV or is this just the cheap Unity version?

as far as I can tell this is there own engine.

I love AoC2 and all, but I don’t see how you can say with a straight face that this is “more politically complex as EU4 and almost as militarily complex”, that’s just pure nonsense. I don’t think Łukasz ever really intended the game to be deeper than EU4, and that’s perfectly fine, but it isn’t.

I mean the military is just numbers and battles simply subtract the smaller number from the bigger number and that’s about as deep as it goes, and diplomacy is pretty similar to EU4 just with less options.

This is all perfectly fine of course since it’s far cheaper (as you said) and has some pretty unique features that EU4 doesn’t have like it is more sandboxy and the editor is far superior, but still I dont think you can seriously say it is mechanically better than its Paradox competitor.

1. this isnt made in unity.
2. It put some more research into it and you will find your answer. The dev has a twitter and a youtube where you can find all sorts of stuff

Well it won't just be whoever have the most numbers, but how well an amount of units are dug in, whether there's a building, tech, and terrain. Like in the videos posted, defenders that are outnumbered can still beat a larger opponent even though majority of defending units will be destroyed.

I dont know I would say Victoria 2 is also very much like this game but has a load more features that make it interesting like much better graphics (from a game that is much older!) , pops to manage, politics/elections, newpapers, events etc. I mean does this game even have events?

From the limited amount I've seen so far its little more than a spreadsheet game with little immersion at all. If you enjoy the priciple of this game you would be better get Victoria 2. I suppose it depends on you interest though and what era you like. But whatever you enjoy there is a Parodox game that is better, although some of them like CK2 are very expensive unless you get the game and dlc in a sale.

AOC2 is like EU4 + VIC2 + CK2+ HOI4. It has almost every stuff from paradox games. (AOC2 has disases similar to CK2, AOC2 also has HRE system similar to EU4)
AOC2 has customization.

Civilization/Nation Creator
Flag maker
Wasteland Editor
Cities Editor
Manage diplomacy
*YOU CAN EVEN CREATE CUSTOM LEADER, YOU CAN IMPORT YOUR PICTURE ETC*

AOC2 has map editor.
Create own maps
Terrain Types Editor
Growth Rate Editor
Cities Editor

You can play from BC to Modern World(2018, WW2, 1440, and much more , you can play through thousands of years

AOC2 has game editor
Add and customize own Terrain Types
Create own pallet of Civilizations colors and share them!
Create own Continents
Service Ribbons Editor
Random alliances names Editor
Diplomacy Colors Editor

AOC2 has more provinces.
AOC2 has stuff from CK2 too,

AOC2 is cheap and it doesnt have DLC BS

Yeah I mean it is a long time period and mashes together features from all of the Paradox Games, but it isn't nearly as deep in terms of gameplay as Paradox Titles. This isn't even really a bad thing, I like the sandbox replayability demonstrated so far but Paradox titles have way more *gameplay* and depth to them than AoC2 looks to have.

you also have to count in that AoC2 was made by 1 person. Companys like paradox have 100+ employes. So to make a game with more gameplay and depth as 1 person could take 4 or 6 years. But i see you point and i mostly agree with your points but in the end i want to play Aoc2 because im exited and hyped

how can i create a custom leader with a Picture?
