Economy stuck at 99
In my games, some provinces sometimes get stuck at 99 economy and stay there no matter what. I increase national investments, goods, I invest in development and the economy in the province itself... nothing. Province investments says it will increase (by for example +22) but it just stays at 99.

Is there a way to avoid this, or fix it?

I have the same problem.

Abandon the province et conquier it the next turn, it will solve the problem (but you will lose a lot of population... personnaly I use cheat codes to fill it).

Any reason for this yet? There has to be a better fix.

You can use the economy cheat to fix this problem.

won't work for me - after i use the cheat (or abandon am province) the industry will drop back to 99 after a while

I think it's meant to be capped at 99

No, if you abandon and invest just after, it will decrease to 99 again.

Wait just some turns before to invest, so it works. In any case that's how it worked with me (and also, don't use cheat to grow population just after colonize, I feel it causes the bug again)

When this happens I recruiting every round. Mostly when the population in this city is about 20k the economy switch to 100+ then I stop recruiting and start investing.

INTERESTINGLY, if you raise those economies with the "economy" cheat via console (which adds 600 economy to the province) and also raise its development level with investments, it drops back to 99 faster compared to a lower development level. So it's pointing to a simple math sign issue somewhere in the code or something wrong with the default values of those particular provinces. Should be an easy fix?

I did a little digging, and - though this only applies when the eco already reached 99 - it seems like if the population of a province is ~140 times more than the economy number, some kind of equation turns into negative and eco starts going down to a minimum of 99. If you abandon the province and reconquer it, the population drops significantly, and that fixes the problem. Interestingly, at a start of a new game, this ~140x number was more like ~115x, no idea what changed it.

Its almost like there is a predetermined pop number for each province what the game uses as a base number for eco growth, and if the pop is too high at the start, the eco will turn negative, and no matter how much development you sink in it, it will spiral down - unless you decrease the population to a certain point.
