Union problem

So I wanted to create the austrian empire, and I needed Hungary for that. But I had so good relationships with them I made a union. Now it's Austria Hungary, but I can't form the austrian empire now. Can you do this somehow?

No it's because you formed a union with Hungary you should have annexed them only Austria can form its Empire (obviously).

How can you demand annexation from an vassal state with good diplomatic relationships? I haven't found anything.

I mean you can always do the demand annexation from the "send demand" diplomacy option, not sure it there is a option for two nations on good relations but you should anyway be stronger then your vassal so the chance of them accepting is higher.

What I think you can also do is go into the Civilization editor in the main menu and make the Austrian Empire a formable nation by Austria-Hungary. If you figure out what menus to navigate to then great, if not I can get into specifics when I get home later today

I know. But this is somehow difficult to make. Guess I'll just start a new game.

Well, I had good relationships with Hungary, like +60 and then I formed the union.
