Thank you, it works perfectly, Chainworm ftw : )
my father put an admin password on my own laptop with a next to impossible password so i can't download winrar without it saying "enter your admin password to continue."
If you're really stuck with not being able to install programs, you could try something like http://portableapps.com/ which lets you install programs to a USB stick or local directory. Using that, install 7-Zip Portable[portableapps.com] and use that to open the pk3 file. (Small disclaimer: I've PortableApps and 7-Zip[7-zip.org], but not the portable version of 7-Zip.) (Side note: WinRAR[rarlabs.com] is perfectly fine if you get it installed, but costs money after the trial period, and I didn't see an official portable version of it.)
Here is the directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Outcast\GameData\base. The file is assets0.pk3.
7-Zip is a FREE download. I needed it when I wanted to upgrade to Eduke32 and joined Duke4.net. I would recommend you make a folder first AND THEN extract everything from assets0.pk3. There are a lot of files that are going to come out of that thing. Just right click and go down to "Extract files...". The music is in a folder as mp3, and there are also loads of textures that you could use in Eduke32 if you wanted. Unfortunately they need to be converted to a PNG or a BMP and are very large or too big to be used. So I would just use them for texture inspiration. However, there are NO catches with the music.
I'm warning you, make sure you have a nice SEPARATE folder to extract these files to; there will be LOTS of stuff from there. DO NOT make the same mistake that I did, and just blow it out on to your desktop.
Thanks again for the tips.
