Jedi Master - crazy difficult or a glitch?
Hey guys, I got a really weird question to ask you: is the game on the Jedi Master difficulty setting really THAT difficult or is it just some sort of glitch? Now, don't get me wrong, I am aware Jedi Outcast is not the easiest game out there and the game can be a major pain until you get the lightsaber. It's not that I suck at this type of games as well, I have recently beaten the previous installments in the series (Dark Forces, Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight, Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith), all on Hard (having never played them before), which is why I felt comfortable enough trying out the hardest difficulty setting in this game as well. But I wasn't expecting THIS: I mean, it just seems like the game ignores every second bolt I shoot at the stormtroopers. I blast right at the guy standing directly in front of me three times and he seems to take only one hit in total. I definitely don't miss, it just seems like he doesn't care.

So what do you guys think? Is it really the way the game is supposed to play like on Jedi Master? If it does, I think I'll plough through it somehow, even though it will probably take me ages. I'd just be surprised since pretty much everybody on the internet says that Outcast and Academy are no match for the older games in terms of difficulty.

It really depends on your style of play. Stealth, run and gun, force only, saber only etc. I recommend just take the situation into consideration a lot of times its best to trick the bot routes. I can't tell you how many times I played this game and everytime I go through it I look at the bot routes, the bot AI and its so terrible they're so easy.

I actually managed to beat the first two levels in the meantime anyway. It turns out it's not so hard once you get the hang of it even though I still die every five minutes or so. Now I know it's not a glitch and everybody has the same thing, even on the lower difficulty settings. Kind of explains why nobody wants to use blasters anymore once they get the lightsaber. I mean, you can get used to it but there's just too much chance in play here. Blasting stormtroopers was fun in the previous games; here it's no fun at all.

Let's just get the damn saber and be done with it.

I actually switch back and forth between the lightsaber and guns in Jedi Outcast, I like to change things up and I genuinely feel like I want to use my full arsenal when I can. Also, to me, shooting stormtroopers still feels fluid and normal and fun in Jedi Outcast. I get almost as much satisfaction killing them with guns as I do with a lightsaber.
In Jedi Academy, however, I can't for the life of me use guns without missing most of my shots, even if I'm right next to the enemy. I don't know if it was on purpose to show that Jaden Korr isn't like Kyle when it comes to guns due to their different upbringings or what, but using guns in Jedi Academy is a pain, just... so awkward and clunky, so I never use them, even when missions force me to prepare my inventory ahead of time.
