Let's just get the damn saber and be done with it.
I actually switch back and forth between the lightsaber and guns in Jedi Outcast, I like to change things up and I genuinely feel like I want to use my full arsenal when I can. Also, to me, shooting stormtroopers still feels fluid and normal and fun in Jedi Outcast. I get almost as much satisfaction killing them with guns as I do with a lightsaber.
In Jedi Academy, however, I can't for the life of me use guns without missing most of my shots, even if I'm right next to the enemy. I don't know if it was on purpose to show that Jaden Korr isn't like Kyle when it comes to guns due to their different upbringings or what, but using guns in Jedi Academy is a pain, just... so awkward and clunky, so I never use them, even when missions force me to prepare my inventory ahead of time.
