STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast™

STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast™

Get any better?
I finally decided to play this game. I'm at the part where i talked to the bartender and a bunch of enemies attacked me and now I went up top. My question is...after experiencing the lightsaber gameplay does it get any better? Cuz so far, the combat is very annoying with constantly being hit by cheap laser blasters from afar and I can't find a consistent way of not getting hit with the lightsaber in my hand. I was enjoying myself up to this point in the game. Am I missing anything? I know this is an old game, but is the core gameplay cheap like this throughout the game? I found myself getting really angry but wasnt sure if I was missing something. I'm playing with keyboard and mouse by the way...

Yeah this and jedi academy have a pretty difficult and hard single player compared to modern game standards. No one called this games sword fighting the best in star wars because of the single player though it was the multiplayer that made a difference than just tapping a single button and getting random strikes.

This game you can actually control where the saber goes to an extent which doesn't help much for lasers. Comboing speed, protect usually helps against lasers.

set saber to Blue stance that is fast saber stance and just stand in one place and let the lightsaber auto deflect the blaster shots. you can also use Force Push to push the blaster shots back at the shooter. as for grenades just use Force Push to send the grenades back to sender but becareful because the grenades do bounce easily.

Sorry for the late replay. Saber Stance is a keybind in the controls menu it only works once you have the Lightsaber after Artus Prime but before Nar Shadda. The color will be indicated on the upper part of the ammo/force HUD counter on the bottom right side of the screen. Pressing the Saber stance button you chose L by Default will change your saber stance as well as the indicator color Blue/Yellow/Red for some the Red looks Purple.
Blue Stance is Fast for Speed.
Yellow Stance is a mix of Speed(Blue) and Power(Red/Purple).
Red/Purple Stance is for Power more damage at the sacrifice of speed.

With Dismemberment the game gets tougher and more intense when dueling multiple opponents with Lightsabers.
