STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast™

brightness problems
This game is so dark like i can barely see anything. I tried turning up the brightness but that isn't working at all.

Just use Jedi Outcast Expanded Menu : https://www.moddb.com/mods/jedi-outcast-expanded-menu

It fixes all the problems that everyone is asking on this Steam forum.

Have fun ! 🙂

Edit: The brightness slider works only if you don't use the "Ignore gamma correction" function in the setup menu. This function makes the game use the Windows brightness and not the game engine brightness, to avoid the saturation display bug from the base game.

i have no idea how to setup a mod like this
In the in-game options menu there is a brightness slider. Swing it back and forth a few times and you should notice it changing. Mine was having the same problem, and that fixed it for me. No idea why the slider doesn't do anything at first.
not working !

Hi,

If you haven't used the "Best Settings" button in the Setup menu, type the following lines into the console :

seta r_ext_gamma_control 0
seta r_ignoreHwGamma 1

May the Force be with you.

Find the game executable, right-click on it, and select Properties. In the properties window, switch to the Compatibility tab and enable the "Run in Windows XP" mode.
I was able to fix my brightness by increasing the display resolution, fixed all my problems. No clue why brightness is tied to that, but I was having the exact same issues. I think I jumped it to 1024xsomething.....somewhere around there, i don't fully remember.
