Can't play on mac "Jedi Knight II cannot continue. Could not read gamma table"

This warning appears when launching and can't go any further, it just closes down. I'm using a 2018 mac mini running Mojave 10.14.6 processor 3 GHz Intel Core i5, Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB. If it helps my monitor is a BenQ GW2280. Any ideas on how to fix? Haven't found anything on the internet with the keywords in the title.
