How do I set 1920 x 1080 resolution?
Title says it all.

Guys, I posted it everywhere...

Just use Jedi Outcast Expanded Menu : https://www.moddb.com/mods/jedi-outcast-expanded-menu

It fixes all the problems that everyone is asking on this Steam forum.

(Also, I will update it soon)

Have fun ! 🙂

Edit: The brightness slider works only if you don't use the "Ignore gamma correction" function in the setup menu. This function makes the game use the Windows brightness and not the game engine brightness, to avoid the saturation display bug from the base game.

People seemed to have some success with this longer adjustment:

Open the console with shift + the key under esc
type in these commands seperately:
r_customwidth 1920
r_customheight 1080
r_mode -1
vid_restart

Default fov is at 85 which is really low for widescreen, I would recommend cg_fov 110 for 1920x1080.

I also recommend uncapping the framerate on newer hardware to reduce input lag:
com_maxfps 0

May the force be with you. :D
Thanks this worked great!

Whenever I did that, game remained in lower resolutions. Have no idea, why it is so.

You can also download the Jedi Outcast Expanded Menu mod from the Jk hub website which comes with many cool feautures including chosing custom resolution directly from the main menu. Highly recommended

Amazing!
It worked! 2 questions about it:

1. Why does that mod not allow me to change the brightness?

2. Is there a similar mod for Jedi Academy?

i dont know if there is one like that for Jedi Academy and yes you can of course change the brightness in the menu. I know it appeared a little bright, especially that sun on the left + when you open Steam overlay. But just use the slider and save. Works for me.

I've tried everything suggested in every thread on Steam to get this game to run in 1920x1080, including trying the Expanded menu mod, but the game keeps forcing 4:3 ratio no matter what I do and making the game so large that even when set to 1920x1080, the screen expands waaaay past the right and bottom of the screen, well past that resolution. I've tried everything now and I'm completely frustrated nd baffled, nothing seems to work.

For me, I ended up installing JK2MV (Jedi Knight 2 Multiversion) which came with a bunch of improvements to the base game without affecting the feel of the game. Allows me to play at higher resolutions. In fact, I have the game running well on my 2560x1440p HDR Monitor.
