STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast™

need help with multiplayer
just hoping someone will be able to help me with my multiplayer issue, i used to have this game on console and would play multiplayer against bots by hosting my own match and i swear that iv'e done this on the PC version as well, however every time i launch the multiplayer, setup my sever and click begin, my game exits and brings up the JK outcast multiplayer console. iv'e tried typing into the console but even simple commands like "help" dont do anything, alt tabbing says there are no other windows for my game only the mp console. ive tried running the game in windowed to see if it force closes my main menu and it still does, i have also tried running it in compatability mode with windows 7. its almost as if it wants me to reopen the game and join my own server which is impossible when steam says the game is already running....any advice would be great. TY in advance

IFC22.DLL is preventing the jk2mp.exe from running then reverts back to the jk2sp.exe, i had this game on CD as well a while back but since lost it. Still had my old install directory tho and no matter what arrangement - DLL or configs i played with if IFC22.DLL was there it wouldnt go, if it wasnt it tried at least a few times but generally failed to launch each time or once or twice it gave a snow white window. Fooking hate Steam over this §hit.

Hi,

The multiplayer version of the game will crash when you create a server with the menu and with a custom resolution. But you can still join a server with your custom resolution without crash.

Its because there are somes errors in a shaders file which makes the game crash when the resolution cvar "r_mode" is on "-1".

There are 4 solutions :

- Just use JK2MV, this is the best solution.

- Use in the menus a conventionnal resolution from the base game engine (like 1024x768), create a server, and when you are in-game you can change the resolution to a custom resolution like 1920x1080 without the crash.

- Launch a dedicated server with the external JK2Ded.exe, and launch the normal game to join your personal server with your custom resolution without the crash.

- Or use Expanded Menu Mod which corrects the errors in the base game shaders files. With this Mod you can create a server without crashing, but only if you don't use other Mods which could contain errors in their shaders files.

For you "weird coloration", this is because the game crashed and Windows didn't have time to restore the correct brightness and you see the game engine brightness on Windows. In this case, you can just re-launch the game and directly re-quit properly to return to normal brightness.

To permanently forget this error, set "r_ignorehwgamma" to "1". (You can change it simply with Expanded Menu Mod in the setup menu of the game).

May the Force be with you.

Your problem is you are starting the server as dedicated. You can create a single player server that is not on lan or internet and play with bots just like on the Gamecube! Just need to find the correct menu option, which is near the bottom.
