STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast™

STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast™

faster gunshots
what always bothered me was the slow traveling blaster shots which turned the game into some stupid quake shooter when the targets were moving

anybody got a mod for faster shots? :D

id love that

I made this mod for you...
fasterBlaster mod for Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast changes the fire speed of the E11 Blaster, the Blaster Pistol and the Bryar Blaster to 3 times the fire rate speed.

and as an added bonus you now get to have up to 999 of maximum ammo for almost all Weapons.

Download the mod from my dropbox...

Enjoy and may the force be with you.

wow thank you, can i edit the mod somehow?
how did you do that?
Code1920 Apr 16, 2020 @ 5:39pm
yes, feel free to change the mod yourself or if you want i can update it for you.

Just rename .pk3 files to .zip then extract it to a folder of it own change the values within the ext_data \ weapons.dat by using a text editor (Notepad) when then save and close the file and zip up the folder again the new zip file should look have the same directories as the old zip file.

now just rename your new zip file back to .pk3 this is now the only file you need to get your mod to work.

any questions let me know.

have fun modding and gaming.

how did it go?
wiggle wiggle Aug 21, 2020 @ 2:01pm
sry for the delay - i just tried to install the mod but it didnt really work ...

Where exactly do i have to put the pk3 file? Do i have to start it with the console? Or in the mods list?
Code1920 Aug 21, 2020 @ 5:09pm
goto...
steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Outcast\GameData\

then copy the fasterBlaster folder here from the .zip file.

should look like this...
steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Outcast\GameData\
steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Outcast\GameData\fasterBlaster\
steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Outcast\GameData\fasterBlaster\fasterBlaster.pk3
steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Outcast\GameData\fasterBlaster\description.txt

now start the game and go to the mods menu, and it will be in the list of mods, now select it and load it. the game will reload with the mod, start a new game and you should now see the guns fire three times faster then normal speed with a bonus of up to 999 maximum ammo.

let me know how it goes.

Enjoy.

hey i tried your mod again and its actually really funny :D
can I edit the file somehow? I tried hex editor but it only renders nonsense ... how do i create or edit such file?

thanks in advance

PS: i thought 1000 shots for the e11 is a lil op but after 2 gunfights u realize that ure running dry pretty quick so spraying is not an option ^^

To edit the mod...
  1. Rename the file called fasterBlaster.PK3 to fasterBlaster.ZIP
  2. Then open the zip file as normal and extract the contents and just open the .def file(s) in a text editor.
  3. Change the lines that you want.
  4. Save the file(s).
  5. Put them back into the .zip file.
  6. Then rename the zip file back to a pk3 file.
  7. Start the game and see if your changes have worked or not.

NOTE: All PK3 files are just normal ZIP files.

At the moment i only know of...
g_corpseRemovalTime #
Replace # with 0 (zero) for unlimited time, or 1 to 120 for the number of seconds.

NOTE: i have tried this and it is not working for me. so i hope it works for you.
I'll keep working on this to see if i can find one that works for me.
Let me know how you go with it.
