Another widescreen fix for Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy
I recently re-installed both Outcast and Academy and got mired in the morass of tips to make the games work at 1920X1080. After a lot of searching and tweaking, I came up with a solution that works great for me. This tip comes in two parts: prepping your game executable and setting up your config file.

First, the executable... (this is for a fully updated version of Windows 10, I don't know if it will work on other OSes). Find your main game .EXE. Mine was in \Steam\Steamapps\Common\(game folder). Right-click on the file and bring up the file Properties. Next, click on the Compatibility tab. Near the bottom you will find "Change high DPI settings". Click that and checkmark the "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". Apply the change (application only) and then search for your JK2config.cfg or JAconfig.cfg file. Mine was in the \basegame\base folder off of the game folder.

Open your config file with Wordpad. Make the following changes or additons (marked with a +;
do not include the "+", it is only for marking purposes).

1. seta r_mode "-1"
2. + seta r_customaspect "1" (this line must be added to your file above the next two
changes)
3. seta r_customwidth "1812"
4. seta r_cusomheight "1022"
5. + cg_fov "100"
6. Save the file and start up the game.

These tips have gotten my games to run in widescreen without tearing, distortions or wonky viewpoint deviations. I know the above resolution numbers may look weird, but they truly make the game fill the screen and look great doing it. I hope this helps someone out there.
