Is this game worth buying?

Both are built on the same engine. I definitely enjoyed the story of this game more than the Jedi Academy one. An Kyle Katarn is one of the best Expanded Universe (Legends) characters.

If you have the money, I would buy both, especially if you can get them both on sale. Otherwise, I would personally recommend Academy first because of the expanded saber types and livelier multiplayer. Outcast is better overall IMO, but Academy is an easier game to get into the series with.

unnnggg....i'm busy half way through this and tbh the first 5 levels are long and terrible. No lightsabre or force shizzle, its mostly a straight up FPS with bad level design and unclear problems that suck up time to resolve. You pretty much have to refer to a walkthrough a lot of the time.

However, once you get past the stupid level with the sniper and the garbage it starts to hot up and I am now enjoying the developing force powers and using my lightsabre most of the time.

I genuinely almost gave up it was such a grind, but I'm enjoyng it now. I just don't get what it has to take nearly half the game to actually get good. I imagine many don't persist. The only question remaining is will its poor start be redeemed by the end? I'll let you know.

It really is, if you like FPS/TPS anyway. If you only came here for the lightsaber/force combat and you hate shooters, then it is understandable that the start of the game makes you feel grindish and painfully long (even if the design is great, someone's incapability to resolve a puzzle and the need to consult a guide does not meen poor design choice).

jedi academy has boring levels that just push the place your apost to go down your throat. while academy has big , exploration levels where your objective is not clear UNTIL YOUR EXPLORE. There Are Medickits That Heal Your , Shields That Act Like A Second Bar Of Health And Bacta Tanks That You Can Save For Later , They Are Important To Your Survival And How Do You Get Them? YOU EXPLORE. Jedi Academy Also Takes Away A Few Good Multiplayer Gamemodes Most Notably My Favorite , Jedi Master. Plus Alot Of Space Isnt Even Used Well In Jedi Academy's Levels. (Hoth And THE WORST LEVEL EVER THAT I WONT EVEN TELL YOU ABOUT) Also The Story Is Worse And Only A Few Levels Are Part Of The Story! Buy Jedi Outcast Not Jedi Academy! And Jedi Academy Even Takes Away A Few Main Characters (That Dont Play A Big Role) Like Jan And Lando. The Ragdoll System Looks So Unrealistic Compared To The Last Game Even.
