Is shooting meant to be assigned to B?

98.9% other games usually have shooting assigned to X so it's easier to press with the front of your thumb while holding jump with the back of your thumb...

Any way to remap this? An editable ini file?

I ended up resorting to Pinnacle Profiler

The mapping seems set to an official Xbox controller so if you're using a Playstation-similar controller that can emulate x-input the triggers won't work (don't think you need them) and some of the buttons will be reversed.

There's a small batch of Unity games that came out like this over the past year but as long as you can switch off built-in pad support, and set options to keyboard/mouse, you can remap.
