Because your mom is a man

Honestly when I first looked at the game I legit thought Sal was a guy, but I think them looking masculine is fine since the environment in-game is a pretty rough and dangerous place to live (especially the Bog).

because this game is infested with liberal pc culture

I agree it's definitely a turnoff for me, but I'm willing to not let it control my entire perception of the game. It's offputting to see feminized men, as well as masculine women.

Because it’s a harsh unforgiving world in Griftlands so the women have to toughen up in order to survive?

There are plenty of feminine characters in the game. I personally didn't think Sal to be a guy, and assumed Sal was short was Sally.

Go back to the cesspool at 4chan and Fox News. Or, better yet, stop going there so you stop getting triggered over things you shouldn't be upset by.

if men and women both live in a harsh world the man is still going to be stronger

Nice strawman you got there.

Hate liberal PC culture, look at "The Major GITS" to see a tough woman that still looks like a normal woman.

I actually thought that it is rare to see game in nowdays where main cast is men, not kidding. I just was going to check screenshots if this game has female characters at all when I saw this topic. Male characters in japanese games are more feminine than females in western games. I am escapist, so I take busty curvy female kicking high heel in opponents throat over modern realism any day. Then again I guess this sells more because almost everyone in west makes masculine women. I miss good old days.

Still while I am not big fan of exclusively masculine aesthetic game itself looks interesting.

So she has a masculine appearance, some women have that. I dont see the problem here?

And she keeps her hair short, which honestly, if you have to fight every day to get by, thats the first thing you want to do. Longer hair means it can get grabbed easily.

Yes and short hair also makes more sense because this kind of rough world hygiene might be issue, but still there would be likely some who would not cut their hair even in world like this. Many female MMA fighters has long hair, though I think pulling hair is most likely against in those matches long hair can be still detrimental, they just use ponytails or something like that. Many MMA fighter also have not lost their feminine features even when they are peak physical condition, so muscles don't necessarily mean complete loss of femininity.

From 90% male main characters to 50/50 choose the gender, to 90% female main characters. Game might be great, hard to get into role-playing experience while having to play as a different gender. Always feels a bit off, that is why I think 50/50 choose the gender was the best era so far. There are exclusive stories in games that require certain gender to be main protagonist. Like in horror games to feel a little bit more helpless it is always great to have a female lead (In the end still overcoming the evil, becoming a badass that way).
Slight annoyance on my part when great games have female main lead (because I love getting into the role of main lead), but it is what it is. About the body shape, I don't know feels like the world requires that type of a look to seem possible. But then again for realistic experience some just can't play as different gender and keep feeling immersed.
Would say any design is allowed to be there, especially when it stands out. I for one dislike the design of this main character, it just seems too much polarizing and too next to political side of certain activism. But that is my take, can't hate a man for his point of view.
To finish, Game is unique and interesting enough for me to get past my dislikes. It certainly doesn't outweighs the good. All the other designs looks amazing, love the creatures, the different races, the backgrounds, the theme itself is really cool. :p2cube:

in that case wouldn't earth had to have same results. Don't know, I think the world requires main character to be strong. It just happens to be female (might be politics, i don't care, don't wanna know). Still game has a unique look and stands out. So it is a + in the end :lunar2019piginablanket:

Which female characters do you think look masculine? And why is it a problem?
