Ik
The main weakness is that those cards are "weak!" (Meaning they're not going to
win games very well.)
Sigh... sorry. Done now I hope.
Arggg... Ok... I talk to much. They're fun cards. So I actually like people talking about them.
But obviously you're going to have people who take the game more seriously and think along the lines of various decks and cards are "weak" because they're not currently (or lkely to become) top tier.
I really wish this game had more was to play for fun. There are Chat rooms to be used in conjuncture with Duel Room, but it's pretty bad that the Duel Rooms don't have chat built into them. If they did, it might be a lot easier to get a fun game without having to play against people who are playing the top tier decks. (I dislike the term "Meta Decks", but that's what I mean. I dislike it because people have bastardized the term "Metagame" to merely mean the successful decks, the term means so much more than that, at least originally. In fact, it's used correctly on the DuellinksMeta.com site's self-description, but seems to have taken on the meaning of any deck similar to the top tier decks posted there.)
There's Maiden Defense, of course, but that's just one card.
A card like Apple Magician Girl could special summon Maiden In Love. The attack would then be redirected at Maiden In Love, and they get a Maiden Counter. The good and bad thing is that the attacking monster's ATK gets halved; you won't take too much DMG, but you'll get a crippled monster.
Savage Colosseum could "force" opponents to attack. If they keep any monsters in ATK position, they have to attack Maiden In Love. Of course, they don't have to keep them in ATK position. In that case, Maiden In Love equipped with PotG can just keep ramming into enemy's monsters, and build up PotG counters.
Savage Colosseum also destroys any ATK position monster that did not declare an attack. One could use Windstorm of Etaqua to switch enemy monsters to ATK position so that they get wiped out. Or use it before Battle Phase to force them to attack if they're freshly summoned.
I'll have to keep thinking. I'm also interested in deck ideas like these.
You forgot Call of the Earthbound which is basically a 1 use Defense Maiden
I think the idea wasn't so much a working card dynamic, as much as the CUTE idea that your opponent needs to show some active interest in the Maiden if you expect Cupid's Kiss to work. You know, making a cute dynamic to mimic a mating ritual. That's said, if you could get something to pull this off even semi-reliably, it's all that much cooler, especially if you could follow some theme or joke in process.
