YOOO these Blackwings decks
I don't wanna be that guy but i do like to vent here.

They are kinda absurdly board dismantling with multiple board swarm and syncro-ing giving me an OTK like EVERY time without giving me much to retaliate with when I go second! Is anyone experiencing this? Plus their turns takes so long with all there monsters effect triggering one after another but that part is a minor pet peev.

Is there a way to consistanly defend against them? I feel like i have to stuff my deck with all sorts of counter traps and cyclones just to survive 1! WAVE! of a turn of syncros popping and bounce effects and high beatsticks all at once.

Like whats the best archtype to go against them?

They are indeed annoying AF ... the best way i found to counter them was to block their syncros (floodgates + enemy controller), but even this is not enough sometimes because of that STUPID counter trap that can be activated from the hand (i mean really? who is the idiot who thought that was a good idea?), also it is really easy for them to swarm because of that continuous spell that allow for drawing. i mean the solution would be a limit to 2 both these cards.

Another card that can be useful is Kiteroid, it may allow you to get 1 or 2 turns to try and pull something off. (but since i'm not using it, i can't confirm if it is really good or not against black wing).

Edit1: Oh yeah, another great card to counter them would be Shadow Imprisoning Mirror, i totally forgot about this card for some reason, but good luck drawing the 1 copy we have access to in time to do something against them.

Who thought that was a good idea? The guy at Konami in charge of making older decks obsolete frequently so that most players frequently need to make new decks to keep up. "he" doesn't seem like an idiot to me, and certainly more "evil" than dumb.

Assault Blackwings were a mistake, yes in comparison to Darklords and Invoked they are ok-ish (still strong but not SSS class *SSS class=Beat em up Tier 0) but the problem is that those are the only decks, every other deck looks like a tier 5 in comparison bc they can't keep up nor overpower them, what Nosferathou said is true getting a flip on the Tuner is key for victory however only if you know what you're doing, you need to know what monster cards they use and what synchro they can build and if it's better to gamble that the first tuner on the field is their main tuner they want to use for the synchro of if they have another one in hand or have the means to special another one, Blackwings main weakness is their field flooding, if you shut down a single synchro combo they are left with a field of mediocre monster at best but this means you have to rely on cards such as Canadia and Floodgate, Blackwings were insanely dominant in the TCG for the exact same reason and were among the main reasons to run a sh*tton of hand traps, well guess what we don't have, this is also why i suggested they add Kaijus etc in the post regarding the new cards we want to see in the game, i think they're unhealthy af for the game but they were used in the TCG to stop exactly these kinds of plays and since Konami powercrept the living sh*t out of DL we now need them too, easy as that.

A quick side note: It could be that my post seems a bit salty but trust me i'm not, i play Invoked and even main deck Debunk for BWs so i have absolutely no issue against them whatsoever, however if Konami adds Assault Blackwings for Blackwings then i really don't get why Subterrors can't have Hidden City, Guru or Fiendess or why we can't have all the Frogs or why we can't have Effect Veiler and Ash Blossom etc. Yes the cards mentioned are unhealthy for the game and the meta but so are Assault Blackwings.

yeah great idea lets powercreep all the decks every 2 months , if they continue at this rate we will have thunder dragon fusions in 4 months , i think adding more busted stuff wont help, my suggestion would be to wait and maybe hit those decks that are on the top , of course they wont hit the ur cards but maybe hit some sr and some skills

lmao you clearly didn't understand my post at all, what i meant is adding something to the game with close to no direct counter is unhealthy, a direct counter to blackwings would be hand traps and kaijus (they're not broken btw), i compared the strength of Assault Blackwings to the strength of Hidden City, Guru, Fiendess etc. not bc i want them in the game but bc they are equal in terms of powering their archetype to whole new levels, this is what i meant and if i were asking for busted stuff i'd ask for Yata Garasu, Chaos Emperor Dragon, Performapals or Pendulums in general etc.
Hidden City, Guru, Fiendess, the Frogs, Effect Veiler and the Ghost Girls are strong but not busted.
