I understand all that.
But how exactly does this work? Do the people have to be in the same room? Connected into a machine?
The concept is too vague.
been awhile since i can recall the story but i think it goes something like this.
In evil within 1 they use leslie as the core. Everything was going well until something went wrong, they send others to go in and try to fix whats wrong and find out ruvik (the guy who created stem) had left some of himself inside stem before they killed him and stole it from him, they find out that ruvik is after leslie and is trying to merge himself into leslies brain so he can leave the machine in the real world.
but since leslie is to hard to find, they kidnap you (a detective) and connect you to the machine. they use you to find leslie and try to leave with him intact. eventually things get even worse and ruvik manages to get into leslie before you can stop him. you destroy the core brain thats holding stem together thinking that its ruvik but hes already inside of leslie. the game ends with leslie, now ruvik, walking out free.
