*help* How to play the campaign online with friends?

I bought the game but I can't find options to create a room and invite friends, what do I need to do to play together?

This game doesn't have the room creation option, it has auto pair system, so you and your friend would have to play on the same difficulty level with different characters, then the game will connect you and your friend together (the game must be set to online mode in the game options). The thing is that this is only possible when two/three characters meet up in the storyline (then two or three players can play together, depending on the mission- unfortunately, there are very few missions to do that).
There is no such option to play story mode with friends, although you can use the Co-op Trainer:

You and your friends would have to mod the game, then you can play Co-op on almost all missions (it's up to four players).

It's just one mod, and yes.
Just follow the instruction and you can play the whole game, and also the Bloody Palace mode with your friend.

It's worth noting that the co-op mod auto-skips cutscenes when it's active, so you'll have to watch them in the menu or something afterward if you wanna see them.

If you're playing by yourself, yeah you can turn off the auto skip option.

Nice quote, except you forgot the rest of it:

"All character specific cutscenes" is most of the cutscenes in the game. I'll grant you it's not all of them, but it basically only leaves introductions for enemies that don't show the characters, as well as certain transitional cutscenes in the levels.

I've actually gone through the game like this with another person, with cutscene skip off. It still skips a majority of them, but go ahead and keep pretending to know what you're talking about.

To prevent further misinformation, as it was already written, the cutscenes are skipped when you and your friend use the Co-op trainer in order to keep the players in synchronization, so if this is your first playthrough, you won't know what's going on in the storyline.
I will also add that when you play with a friend, you have to do several missions on your own, including the main boss. All the information is in the mod description.
