I blame microtransactions, they shouldn't exist, Dante's hat shouldn't exist, 3 mil taunts shouldn't cost so much and you shouldn't be able to have infinite supply of gold orbs and option to ress with red orbs.
3 mil taunts are worthless in the actual fight, cuz they're too long. They're there just for giggles, don't know why you're complaining about it.
I don't often play RPGs, but when I do I don't care about my "choises".
lol.
The thing is, it was never really like that before. In previous DMC you could be bad and spam items sure, but you actually had to spend a lot of time grinding to do that, so in the end, you either spend time to get gut or you spend time grinding and cheesing. And i think it was pretty much perfect, you had to commit one way or another.
In DMC5 you dont even need to grind to spam revives on every mission.
Again, if someone is willing to throw away his money just to buy some worthless taunt as soon as possible - it's his own fault. Simple as that.
First, never heard about one-shotting bosses with Faust. Care to provide some proofs?
Second, excuse me? With hat you can obtain millions of orbs in less than an hour, what microtransactions you're talking about again?

Completing the game without revives is self challenge, it has nothing to do with difficulty. With self challenges every game can be difficult.
Well, the way i see it, they wanted mictrotransactions, but they didn't want the backlash EA get from it, so they made the hat, made it very costly to upgrade and made it OP, also made it possible to revive with red orbs. This video is just an example, literally whole DMD can be cheesed on S rank if you know how to use it. I feel like it is not a coincidence that this is the only game where such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weapon exists, also the only game where you dont need to be good to complete at all with unlimited revives. I'm not blaming microtransactions directly, they handled it well, i blaming the consequences of including them. I dont think the hat, red orb revives and unlimited gold orbs would have existed if microtransactions wasn't in the game. Even if i'm wrong and overthinking it, these things make game too easy anyway.
I haven't spent a penny other than the game itself and in general I think I had around 30.
Of course you can just do gold orbs but it deplets your rank and then makes you get less red orbs making it very ineffective in the long run.
How is it p2w if you don't pay for it?
"Games that let you buy better gear or allow you to make better items then everyone else at a faster rate and then makes the game largely unbalanced even for people who have skill in the game without paying."
Yes it's a good and effecient way to farm orbs but how in any way is it p2w?
If anything it's just making microtranscations less attractive to buy since you can just use dr.faust instead.
