I don't get V (spoilers)
That character change with vergil. It's weird. What happened to cold hearted vergil? I obviously missed something.

but when that part became V, he started to think differently, which is why he wanted to fuse back with urizen, because now he finally understand what makes human strong (the whole thing dante was talking about in DMC4) but since urizen is obviously not gonna listen to him, he needed dante and nero to defeat him first, and now that they fused, they became a new and perfect vegil who is accepting and embracing his human side unlike before

Not really explained in game. Maybe he's more naturally empathetic towards others because it's only his human side?

You didn't pay attention to dialogues, did you? Return to the very beginning of mission 12 where V explains his birth and motives to Trish.

Of course it's weird. V is basically Virgil's GOOD side.

Virgil. Good.

That in itself is weird. So naturally V is going to be weird.

question, why he looks more different than human mother, hmm

Vergil has always been motivated by his desire for power. He hates himself for being too weak to protect Eva and Dante. In 5, he thought that his human side was holding him back, was the source of his weakness. So he separated demon from human and so Urizen and V were born. V retains his memories and emotions, Urizen the power and strength. V realizes how wrong he was in his pursuit for power, losing the true source of his strength when Vergil used the Yamato.

Vergil still fights Dante and Nero because he is still driven by power and strength but after getting some sense knocked into him, he has finally begun to change his outlook.

There's also the fact Virgil lost whoever is Nero's mother (likely to some demon) which is why he wants power in the first place. Which explains both his desire for power and Urizen. Without someone to protect the reason for having power was lost. So all that was left was "power... give me more power". Now that he's met Nero, who even stands up to Virgil which has gained his respect, Virgil has a reason to have power in the first place. Only as Dante says it comes from within. Not magic fruits and the like. The next game will probably shed more light on the whole mother and Virgil coming to terms with himself thing.

V doesn't reject power. He clearly has it. But the way he uses it is different then Urizen would. What I don't understand is why the animals are Virgil's "nightmares". It feels like the devs crammed that in without any context given to it. They seemed quite alright to me. Even friendly and willing to chat. Maybe it was to imply Virgil has trouble letting people get close to him (which makes sense since he's afraid of being weak enough to protect anyone).

The 'animals' are Virgil's nightmares from the time he was Nelo Angelo. Also, both Griffon and Nightmare are guests from the first game, so here's that.
