How is the profanity?
IS this game filled with it? That's one of the main reasons I was put off from that crappy Ninja theory one.

There is some swearing by Nero, but nothing forced like Ninja theory's.

Afaik most of the heavy profanity are done by Nero but not really often enough to be a problem. Nero does pull a good F U in the game though
I honestly don't even remember any.

Thanks for the answers guys. So not it's not like RE2 remake? That game was loaded with foul language and nonstop blasphemy. I forgot to ask about that. I really want to get the game, but I have been putting it off because I did not like that they did that to RE2.
Nero goes "f**k you!" or similar epithets during gameplay (rarely, and during some special attacks, I believe), and calls one of the bosses a "f**king a**hole". He also uses the word "b*tch" sometimes, within the context of more meaningful phrases. i.e. "stop b*tching and take cover" or "I'm bagging this b*tch" or "I've got a score to settle with that son of a b*tch".

Just so you're prepared for such unwarranted exploitation of the English language.
P.S. And yes Nero suddenly became Jessie from Breaking Bad (deal with it b*tch?).

I'd put it on about the same level as RE2 remake, at least there isn't a character that says "Jesus Christ" every 5-10 minutes in DMC V

dont forget "SH*T YEAH!"

Are you saying that you wouldn't swear up a storm if you were in Leon's shoes? If anything, it's more realistic.

Yeah Nero swears alot. He's a bit edgy, but the good kinda edgy imo.
In my opinion it's not annoying if it's used for particular situations or characters for emphasis (aka Jessie from Breaking Bad or for example the only F-Bomb in the entire game, at the very end of Silent Hill 3), but it IS annoying if it's just overused white noise that substitutes writing.

Well it's hard to say, but I have been in shootouts and I don't remember swearing like a teenager left and right. But this is a fiction, and if I was writing a story I would not load it with profanity, it doesn't add realism. Spielberg's "Schindlers List" and Polanski's "The Pianist" aren't loaded with it, in fact they hardly have any swear words and that is far more realistic than a zombie game.

This series is about juggling demons in the air while taunting them and being lame - cool. Your characters are also half demon.

It's not realistic and the language used reflects that.

For example a character might say to a demon, while sitting on a wall. Something like "I'd say your more of a knuckle scaping fart in the wind"

I fought giant demons and I didn't give sass or swear but this is a video game where one of the key things is taunting enemies and sometimes that involves bad language.

That being said it's not like ninja theory DmC. It's more like one punch man

Ah a good reply, yeah I get ya. It's just sad and annoying, DMC1-4 didn't have foul language. Nobody was calling it out for it's lack of "realism" back then.

I don't find it distracting, at its worst it's the equivalent of "ONE TWO THREE BREAKDOWN" and at its best it's "THIS IS FOR EMPHASIS, B*TCH!"

Probably helps that Nero's only one protagonist out of three, so it's not like it's constant f*cks and b*tches going on.
